Holy shit, I did not see that coming! I mean, I'm fucking glad, but shocked! I hope he's ok though and it's just simple burn out as opposed to anything more serious. |

"That video is weird. Almost as if he's trying to say that he's ill.
I thought that. "
Yeah with the ‘I’m fine now’ stuff.
But it also sounds like he’s retiring?? |

"Prem is going to turn into the bundesliga. Liverpool were at least giving city some competition "
Well if Man City gets punished for any of their charges, they should be relegated to the National League. So you're probably right... |

It already feels like it. Liverpool have won 1 title in the pep era and Chelsea won the other. City have won it every other time our league is such a joke rn |

Anyway… I am betting xavi alonso will be the next Liverpool manager "
Hundred percent I think this is their next move. |

"I’m not a Liverpool fan at all, but all I can say now is Klopp for England. "
I’ll take anyone to get Southgate out of the job for a competent manager. Though realistically he’s got to be eyeing the Germany job at some point beyond this break. |

Exactly! Roll it back to the 90s and 2000s! |

This is the sign of the man - rival fans can’t even hate him - there’s not many people who can be so successful and still be one of the people - an irreplaceable loss - he turned the club completely around.

Liverpool fans will remember him with fondness. Other football fans less so, he's obviously a complex man but appears to be graceless. In an era dominated by City his team never reached the heights he liked us to think. |

Sad to see him go and aslong as Liverpool keep their hands off the Brighton coach Mt4 will be happy !! mind he's happy as the so called big 6 keep on giving his club silly amount's of money lol xx |

Deffo got a vibe that there’s a serious health condition that will come out soon. The wording, the despondence, the whole vibe.
I hope he’s going to be ok and it’ll be a massive loss to the league |

He did yes, and Alonso would be a good choice..
All managers move on, the days of Sir Alex seem to gone in relation to longevity and that might be partly down to how the game even since he left has changed..
As a manager he's a hard act to follow but that how it goes but also on the human side he will be missed ..
Wish him and his family all the best..
YNWA.. |

Looking from the outside he seemed to be up against a club backed by an oil state who flagrantly broke the rules. So probably didn’t do as bad a job as you suggest! |

"The special one is currently jobless."
I would personally love to see Salah and Diaz playing full as backs by proxy and lumping it up to Nunez in a 1 chance, 1 goal kind of game |

I can't believe what I've just heard today.... Heartbreaking but watching that vid it definitely sounds like he needs a break. Initially thought he could be retiring but I hope he's OK mentally and physically.
I'm very glad to be seeing him on the weekend! Anfield is going to be roaring As some of you have mentioned, he's I think Xabi Alonso is in the front line for the job. Who else could we get these days...? We're losing a legend |

"Sounds like he is just about burnt out to me and needs a break. Can see him taking the Germany national job, much less workload and stress. "
I agree he is burnt out or, more likely, he can see burnout is just around the corner and he wants to get out ahead of that.

"Big rumour he’ll be Germany manager for Euros .
It’s in Germany sole this time x
"
How would that work? It would mean he needs to get involved with the German team _now_ - having watched him on that video he was crystal clear he is at Liverpool for the rest of the season and he was adamant he wanted a “normal life”. Being a national manager is no where near a “normal life”. |

Strongly agree, after a year or so then if they want him for that job ..
Time away from the game looks like what is needed.. |

I respect the Man,
I would even go as far as to say, I love the man.
What he has done for my team has been fantastic and he will always be a legend in my eyes.
To be fair, I though he might leave last season as he does tend to burn himself out every 7 years.
But we got another year out of him and I can only hope he leaves with at least one more trophy under his belt, if not more.
He will be missed, but the game and Liverpool will carry on!
AND him letting the fans know in advance of his decision shows the respect he has for his fans.
I just hope we get a manager who can fill his boots.
He turned doubters in to believers! God bless the man |

They are awful ( German team ) . Maybe he won’t but I heard it on Euro football podcast , Guillem Balague isn’t usually far off and they sounded him out along time ago . |

I also think the older generation managers are struggling with the pressure of amount of games and VAR . I can’t imagine how Ferguson / Wenger / Clough would have coped with the current VAR situation |

I'm not a city fan and I agree with your comments on them. I think that Liverpool get an easy ride from the media and that they have underperformed. |

Well, for one, Wenger and Ferguson wouldn't have been able to pretend they didn't see their player being a country mile offside or elbow the dude with a broken nose in the face
*In French accent*
I did not see it, but I don't think any contact was actually made

They just gave nagelsmann a 4 yr contract so that wouldn’t work..
In fact if nagelsmann wasn’t manager he would have been a good shout if xavi Alonso for some reason didn’t want the job…
It’s either Alonso or de zerbi for me.. Stevie G ruined his audition at villa |

All the Xavi Alonso's in the replies it's XABI respect 1 of the greats by at least getting his name right & he probably isn't going to Liverpool this summer stay & defend your title (if he wins which he probably does) it'd be his first in his career he wouldn't up & run Liverpool will always be there for him when he's ready |

Don't think they would be very happy if they did get Xavi as their manager |
