I always thought fika meant to take a break in Swedish. As in lets fika, fancy a fika, etc. to take a break for a coffee and chat with friends. I may have been wrong all this time. |

I always thought fika meant to take a break in Swedish. As in lets fika, fancy a fika, etc. to take a break for a coffee and chat with friends. I may have been wrong all this time. "
It’s both. It’s utilised (in my understanding) as coffee and cake break etc as the epitome of slowing down and appreciating things. |

I've heard of the slow food movement. Pity employers thing that 30 minutes equates as lunch hour. Especially when you are in jobs where you are screamed at for sitting down. Tongue in cheek ! |
