If we’ve not interacted and it’s an initial message, don’t answer and delete.
If we’ve interacted I explain that it’s a no. I’m happy to meet and make friends but if in the premise of your question that’s not something I want then I’d just say thank you so much for the invite but I won’t waste their time as I don’t think we are compatible and wish them well. |

Usually we give them a reason, so I love it when they come back with Why? I tell them politely and precisely all the reasons why, without sparing any thoughts for their feelings. They ask for feedback, they get it. |
