Individuals choice, but mine don’t. They wouldn’t settle and would be roaming trying to guard us all which would keep me awake and get on my tits.
They sleep in their individual crates downstairs. |

In my bed no way. On it and at the bottom then yea she is allowed. I have a cockapoo so not at all smelly, she does not malt so I’m not getting any hairs or smells in the room. She is very affectionate and loves to be close. So I welcome her on but def not in |

"My dog sleeps on one of our beds every night. He changes around. Not in it though, on it. I know people whose dogs aren’t even allowed upstairs. Up to the individuals I guess. "
Bloody Nora...How many beds do you actually have.. ? |

I'm not the right person to ask ! My dogs normally sleep outside in a kennel but due to covid and the amount of dogs that were getting taken at that time I reluctantly let mine in the kitchen and they've never gone back outside yet ! It's not good for certain breeds of dogs to be inside !! |

Personally I wouldn't have it dog in the bed, but he's always on it!

I had three dogs a golden cocker spaniel and two black, the golden one used to sleep on the bed and the other two in beds at the end to the bed. They are family and loved company so why not once changing bed every other day. They are chasing each other in doggy heaven now. Miss them so much |

I don't have dogs but I do occasionally look after friends dogs; It's always my intention that the dog won't sleep on my bed or even on the sofa but in truth, I'm a total pushover so they end up sleeping wherever they choose. |

"Nope.
Letting dogs sleep in your bed ruins your sleep pattern. Dogs only sleep in blocks, they'll be up disturbing you.
"
Have to say mine has never disturbed my sleep pattern. She definitely sleeps the same schedule as me |

"ABSOLUTELY NOT. Dogs should have their own bed and in a separate room from their owners. It's important you teach dogs independence! Regardless of whether you change your sheets everyday or once a week, dogs should never, I mean never ever sleep in the same room as their owners, always separate.
What's happens then when you want to go away for a weekend and you want the dog sitter/minder to take him. Is the dog expected to sleep in their bedroom too.... you're not being fair on the dog sitter/minder either!
So your saying at night close the bedroom door and exclude the dog?
"
Put them into a separate room, whether that be the sitting room or the kitchen! Nothing wrong with closing those doors. They're still kept warm and cosy. When I have dogs staying with me, when it comes to bedtime, they're either in the sitting room or the kitchen and the doors are closed. They're not traumatised because of it! |

Not suggesting they would be traumatised by it..
Always let ours since I was a boy have the run, once they're toilet trained etc but never on the furniture or the beds although respect others do it differently..

Very very true! Unfortunately a lot of dog owners think that their dog is human !!
Mine are far superior to us humans! As are most animals tbf! x"

"Each to their own. Mine sleep downstairs. There’s 3 of them and they’ve already taken over the giant sofa so I like my room to be just for me. "
And that's how it should be!! They still have their comforts and be independent too!! |

I think if you dont have a dog then you cant comment lol
This falls into the same argument of, can you let your dog on the sofa?
I have 2 dogs and they can go and rest where they please - you can always tidy up etc so whats the big deal?
Dogs are every bit as part of the family as anyone else |

"I have to admit to allowing my dogs to sleep with me when I'm scared, or when there will be fireworks, so they don't bark at them.
I'm a scummy cow at times "

My little lad either sleeps on my bed or my daughters.
He's the only one I get a regular cuddle from so wouldn't change it for the world.. Partly because he doesn't leave fur all over the place.
I find it bonkers that some let their cats on their bed but not their dog unless it's a big hairy bugger. Have you ever seen what a cat gets up to while the little mass murderer is outside for hours at a time. |

My dog sleeps on my bed beside me every night. On the rare occasions I'm not here she always goes to my sons. I would miss her if she didn't.
To be honest, I'd rather her than any man. She has far better manners and has never upset me! |
