Feeling sorry for Katherine Ryan? What’s your annual tally?

In an interview on the weekend Katherine Ryan said that her and her husband have sex twice a month. 24 times a year.
This was followed by an opinion piece saying 24 was quite a lot according to others in a relationship!
Can’t help but be a little shocked by that…
We have been together for well over a year and still have sex at least two or three times a week….plus lots of other bedroom activity that probably should also be counted. Reckon we are easily over 100 times per year. What’s your count? |

Pfffft…
Up to a year ago, possibly once a week.
Now… last time was well before Christmas. No signs of anymore coming anytime soon… married 20 years.
Thank goodness for my extracurricular activities  (yes, he knows)

All the good relationships I’ve had it’s been minimum, every day we’re together. Sometimes twice if I’ve been doing my cardio and3 times if it’s a holiday/special occasion
However, I can respect why that would go down over the course of a really long relationship |

I think this might be a slightly biased audience lol
Having said that, when I was living with someone the sex was very infrequent. When seeing someone once or twice a week it was obviously more and we wanted to make the most of it.

It doesn't have to be any of your business if you simply ignore it but, as ever, those with an opportunity to bring topics to the masses help to open up conversations where perhaps people feel too shy to. Some people may be in a similar situation and this may make them realise it's pretty common. That in turn can lead to better mental health and less pressure to 'do better'.

It depends on whether they are happy with it. Some people just don't have enough sex drive like the ones on fab. For them, twice a month is more than enough and are happy with it. |

Depends on my partners hormones which depends where she is in her cycle. Can be every day or every other at least.
Got it twice a day with my ex. (But that was only for one day every two years hence why she's my ex) |

I think its unnecessary to judge her sex life.
Most women juggle the majority of household responsibilities especially with children and working.
Even though we have sex more, I haven't got the busy schedule that I assume she has being on TV/ doing shows / podcasts etc. I think female solidarity is important and really think it's distasteful.

Am not sure what the issue is? They are still in their relationship, so maybe this is what works for them in, what I assume, will be their busy lives. Libido differs from person to person, not everyone is at it like rabbits day and night, seven days a week …. |

If they are happy with twice a month then there is no issue. My husband and I can sometimes go 3 weeks without sex, sometimes life takes over. Work, family, stress, tiredness all have a part to play. I don't know how some people have the time or energy to be at it 34/7. It's not realistic or sustainable for us, what's more I wouldn't want it to be. Too much of a good thing and all that. |
