It’s started to blow here in Hampshire now - I gather worse elsewhere
Symptomatic of climate change it seems and will only get worse
Sad this next generation be sorting this out
Batten down the hatches . Hope the combings hold out !!
It will be a rough one tonight for sure ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

"Green bin has succumbed to the wind here already so the black will soon follow suit.
I have my chainsaw filled up and kit ready just in case.
Has bins"

"We don’t have real storms in this country in the same way they do in the states so there is no need for silly names. It’s winter so we’re likely to experience some wind and rain at times. "
Been blowing away all day and heavy constant rain, just waiting on the real windy stuff and wondering if worth getting dog out again. Bins are pinned against each other and hoping that’s enough.
I’d politely wholly disagree with that point above, there are a few storms that are beyond regular weather. |

Jiminey fucking crickets its mental out there. Just popped out for supplies. On the upside my curly hair now has a multi directional and volumised style that would have been otherwise unachievable. |

"who is braving it and who is home? I am definitely staying put to be fair!"
We went out to collect our "new" car just as the rain started here. It's pretty wet and windy out there, but nothing horrific yet. |

I've been out as well as travelling. Got caught trying to walk along a wind tunnel, making limited progress and then got wet, as the rain came down.
After a few hours out, I'm finally home and settled ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Sat in my cabin at the bottom of the garden listening to the rain on the roof and the wind blowing a good one. Have a lovely cup of tea and my book on the go.
Very atmospheric I love it. The walk back up to the house will not be fun. |

Even on the us scale this one would be considered a “tropical storm “ so it would be named… and it’s throwing out hurricane cat1/2 gusts…
I just hope everyone stays in and the emergency services don’t have a bad night….
Worst being worst I can always work from home tomorrow! |

We're mid extension so currently only have half a tiled roof And even then, no rodge toles etc! I've parked the car up the road just incase any of them decide they would rather vacate!
But still, I no doubt won't be sleeping tonight due to the noise, and worrying about the roof ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

"Looking forward to waking up and having the garden look like the middle of Lidl
This made me laugh… and then I realised our roof might look like that "
Oh shit! Hope you manage to stay safe through it |

Before I could rescue my Calvin Kliens from the washing line, I witnessed one pair of them landing on the local Vicor’s wifes head. I’ll go round in the morning and ask for them back. My favourite pair as well |

We've had to drive out in it while ago, it was quite scary, the wind, rain and avoiding the tree branch debris on the road.
We're now laid in bed and I feel really worried, the wind gusts must be getting up to near 100mph...that's what we get for living high on an exposed hill top though.
I hope everyone stays safe and don't suffer much damage. |

Listening to the wind...bloody scary! Horrible heavy rain all day and now thus, per forecast the wind "calms" down here post midnight. Staying up until just after midnight as I can't sleep with the wind |

"Anyone driven along the motorway recently? I'm waiting to drive 2hrs down from midlands"
No but if you see a wheelie bin going down the motorway heading for Wales you could let BlackwoodGent know |

Be interesting to see what debris or items we will find in our gardens in the morning....
Apparently a guy in Scotland has just witnessed a pair of large knickers fly & stick to his kitchen window....

I was enjoying the bright, cold weather.
Now it's gone from -6 degrees to 14. Pissing it down with sideways rain, the gusts are pretty strong but nothing unusual for Devon round this time of year, we often have pretty gnarly gales anyway. |
