I never usd to be and lived with debt for many years. However now I am finally free of that shackle I make a conscious effort to save every month.
In fact I get quite anal about it sometimes. Rhett can't leave any change around without it getting swiped and put in the jars. I also cant stand to see odd amounts in my savings account so it's alway rounded up to multiples of 10 or 100

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
I used to have debts so bad I was at the very end of my tether. After clearing them (with help) I am now very careful. I've set up a DD to transfer money to my savings account each month which goes towards holidays and is there for any emergencies. I collect change and cash it in once a month. I shop around for everything. I never ever want to be that bad again. |

I dont have enough money each month to save (actually that's not entirely true, I would have lots spare if I wasn't so weak willed and could stop smoking!) but I do put the £30 per month I receive in child maintenance into my sons trust fund for him |

Oooh that sounds so familiar!
When I was working I was great at saving. Now I've been unemployed for 19 months and I haven't really had to dip into my savings yet. I will spend some of my savings if I really have to, with the exception of the money my Grandad gave me when he died, and £40 of my tattoo fund! |

"Still paying off debts though only a couple left, not able to save yet but fingers crossed maybe soon "
Keep going, it's a wonderful feeling when you pay the last bit. It's also a good idea to then save at least half of what you were paying off each month. Your used to it going out anyway but without the stress of it. It's amazing how it soon adds up
