Is having no sex after 7 month dating normal?

I watched liar liar yesterday and it was very fun, there was a scene in the movie where jim asked his wife if she had sex with her new partner? She said no, not yet, it have just been 7 months.
I was just as surprised as jim was, when she said that it is not a rush, although having said that. I agree with her that it is nothing one need to rush into even when first starting dating if they dont the connection with them yet.
What is your view about it, is it normal to not to have sex when dating in the beginning? Is there a time period where you feel you should have sex or not?  |

It’s a film…….it’s not real…. 
I’m sure there’s lots of relationships that started off slow, and I reckon the people involved alright with it, or they wouldn’t stick around.

It would depend on how many times they have seen each other in that 7 months I guess.
Plus sex isn't as important for a lot of people. I reckon you'll get a slightly biased opinion on here lol

Dating Is usually a first date in public then you usually get asked over theirs for the second.
I did date a Christian for 18 months with no sex but she would dry hump me to her clitoral orgasm. Lovely girl and a busty redhead which is what I love. It's very usual for people to wait sometime before having sex especially if they are looking for a marriage partner and intend on having children.
One of the reasons that youngsters think they HAVE to have sex is this idea that there must be something wrong with you if you don't. That and the fact that society sells you sex sex sex all the time and that's only so they can capitalise on your needs.
I tend to think that people who say ...... well if we haven't fucked in the first week I get outta there , just PROVE that they have no interest in the PERSON just the sex and that's fine but takes me back full circle to the idea that people wanting something meaningful are seeking someone who values THEM and not just a regular fanny |

If dating someone & you not done it in 7months I would guess:
1) one of you is getting sex somewhere else
2) might be waiting for marriage
3) could be for religious/cultural/ medical reasons
4) someone has a very low sex drive & again other partner must be getting done somewhere else lol |

It depends what you mean by sex, I'm guessing the penetration bit. If I was dating someone for seven months before there was physical intimacy at all it would be a platonic relationship for all time unless there was a sudden drastic change. Going from nothing to full sex after 7 months would seem odd to me |
