I said I wanted to learn the guitar but I was told they didn't teach that. So they gave me a violin instead. Well. They both have strings I was told...
Anyway, the violin was good as it taught me music so I taught myself guitar and it became my life basically. Even bought me a house so was certainly worth doing. |

I wanted to learn the guitar but we had to have our own. I borrowed my sisters and took it in to school but because it had metal strings not nylon they said I wasn't allowed to use it and meant I couldn't get guitar lessons |

I was the star music pupil in early years at secondary school and was given trumpet lessons. For some reason I hated it. I wonder whether things might have been different had it been piano or French horn... |

I put my name down for violin, but the music teacher didnt like me so not surprised i wasnt picked. Probably saved my parents a lot of pain though.
As a late 40's adult i'm now 3 years into learning the cello, its great even though i dont have much musical talent.... |
