Scotland’s the home team. I think it could be anyones this year (apart from the obvious, sorry Italy ). Really looking forward to it. No live games planned. I like my sofa, telly and recently converted partner (to rugby that is) for snuggles and blankets. |

England supporter here, but I'm thinking he has to have a huge clear out and start rebuilding with youth. He's gotta do it sooner or later.. and sooner the better for me.
So this 6 nations will be what it will be for me....have little expectation so I won't be disappointed..

My heart says The Sheep Shaggers all the way!!!

Ireland will need to work out who they are going to play in the back 3.. wingers and fullback
It’s definitely going to be a transitional year where everyone is going to be blooding new talent post World Cup
I think it’s the french this year… I am going to be looking at that France vs Ireland game for 80 minutes and thinking “should have bloody been the World Cup final!!” |

Have they said where they are going to try and play him? When Christian wade went into the program they tried playing him as a running back… but when Aussie rugby player jerryd hayne went in they played him as a wide receiver
At worst case.. if the NFL player program doesn’t work.. he will be back in 3-4 years for the World Cup! |

I don’t think that is the case, citing panel can downgrade a red to yellow.. or extend a suspension… but if something is call’d a straight red, that is automatically a 2 week ban
So in affect the french player got a yellow and a red…. Rather than 2 yellows |

The Ref showed the player a yellow for the second offence, then immediately should him a red, because two yellows in the same game = a red card.
The length of ban will be dependent on the panel reviewing the two incidents. However, the two incidents were for a very similar offence, so the player is habitually tackling like that. |

That may be true at club level, but at international level all yellows go to the bunker to be reviewed… and it’s the bunker that eventually call’d that 2nd tackle a straight red…
So the french player officially got a yellow AND a red.. and that straight red gets him an automatic 2 week suspension… unless the citing committee want to look at it and downgrade the 2nd offence from red to yellow…. |

RFU REGULATION 19 – DISCIPLINE (APPENDIX 1)
Yellow Cards
Two Yellow Cards in a Match
1. A Player that receives two yellow cards in a match (whether for Foul Play or technical
offences) and is ordered off after the second yellow card (i.e. awarded a red card), will
have their case heard by a Disciplinary Panel.
2. Where a Player has been ordered off as a result of receiving two yellow cards and one
or both of those yellow cards was awarded for Foul Play, then the Player may challenge
one or both of the Foul Play yellow cards. There is no right of appeal against the award
of a yellow card for a technical offence. If the Disciplinary Panel allows an appeal
against one or both of the Foul Play yellow cards the red card shall be expunged from
the Player’s record. Any yellow card that was not challenged and set aside by the
Disciplinary Panel shall remain on the player’s record.
3. If a Player has received two Citing Commissioner Warnings (CCWs) or a combination
of CCW and a yellow card during a match they shall be treated for disciplinary purposes
as if they had been ordered-off during the match.
4. The Disciplinary Panel is required to apply a sanction for the offence of persistent
offending, not for the substantive offences relating to each yellow card. In this case the
appropriate entry point for persistent offending within a single match is a suspension
of one week. Sanctioning in these circumstances should be determined by reference
to the methodology in RFU Regulation 19 and in particular to the application of
mitigating and aggravating features. |

"No, it was two yellows. The first yellow was with 4th official review, after the second yellow the red is shown. Simple"
Listen to the refs dialogue when he awards both yellow cards - he is using the bunker protocol - 20min review of yellow to check if they are upgraded to red (because of the degree of danger)
First yellow - you are correct - it was reviewed and remained a yellow
Second yellow was also bunker protocol, and was upgraded to red . (That’s why ref pulled captains at start of second half to advise the yellow was upgraded to red).

Initially he went off because 2 yellows equates to a red.
A bunker review of the 2nd yellow later upgraded it to a red.

"We ready???"
Yep.
Feet up, food in front of me, cider in the fridge and looking forward to the game. Hopefully my prediction will be more accurate than yesterday's..... |

"Great win by the Irish last night.
Good luck to England and also the sheep shaggers later today. "
Gloucester?!!! At least the sheep we shag aren’t close family
relations .
Being serious, I like Gloucester - it’s a proper rugby town. Not too many barbour jacket and custard coloured chords types around (hello Bath etc)!
My home team is Cymru
I would have said France before last night.
Scotland should beat us today. Comfortably, actually.

Not really surprised by this at all. A very young, inexperienced side (Cymru).
In fairness, there’s a fair amount of young, talented players emerging, despite the lack of funding for the professional game compared to England, Ireland, France etc. It’ll be a long road before they are competitive though. |

Phew! We (Scotland) we're very lucky to hold on to the win. Wales were blinding in the 2nd half. |

Massive guts from my youngsters to turn around that massive first half score against a very experienced Scotland team who couldn't even score a single point in the second half
We go again and we rebuild
Cam, Rio, Reffell, Lloyd, Domachowski, Tompkins....the future is looking amazing, da iawn i chi gym, Cymru am Byth |

Scary thing is… is you had offered wales 2 pts at half time.. they would absolutely have snatched your hand off.. and yet I can see how they would feel really disappointed |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) | |
I think we thought we’d won it at half time and lost our discipline….. Wales played brilliantly to come back in and almost got there

That was a hell of a gutsy second half. Wainwright was immense. |

Who are your bets on?
Will anyone from Scotland be coming down to Cardiff on the 3rd? ( that was my main question )"
Although I’m nearer to Murrayfield than Twickenham, definitely England! |

I once made a bet with a certain fab Welsh lass a few years back on the game. Whoever lost the other had to post a pic on here wearing the other teams shirt.
She looked good in white...... |

Ireland 1st
England 2nd... They weren't that convincing against Italy. I'd like to see Eng, improve.
I think Ireland look tasty if they can be consistent.... I think they have the coaching staff now to do that! If I was going to have a punt it would be them.

Going on last week’s performance yes but if the French bring there power game, the last 20 minutes could be hard to watch if you’re Scottish, France to win by 8. |
