Me! My favourite is from the very north. Before hearing it, I wrongly assumed it would be very strong, but it isn’t. It’s got a beautiful softness to it and I have a major crush on someone I know who lives there |

There are several different Scottish accents, and then there is the delivery to consider.
There’s quite a few that sound miserable and moany.
Then there’s the happy chirpy ones with song-song delivery.
The angry ones are not a small group.
And then there’s the ones that always sound sarcy, like wee Nicola. Scots call these people nippy sweeties.
And then there’s the ones that Al Murray said sound like they’re having their bollocks gently massaged with a warm soapy leather chammy …”ooh helloooo! Ooh, that’s wonderful”.

I’ve just moved to Bathgate….i wouldn’t say I’m in love with it as I’m certainly finding it hard to understand but it has a certain tone which is growing on me  |
