Patience is not my strong suit… Anyway, the title of this thread is an obscure reference to the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes - that only fans would get

It would not surprise me if a band named themselves after Calvin and Hobbes, but if that’s what you’re talking about I don’t know the band.

Yay! Calvin and Hobbes! With his transmogrifier and his ratings polls for his parents! We certainly had C&H in South Africa, I don't know if it was a thing here.

I have the complete works in a four book series I had to bring back from the states.

It’s HEAVY.

But it was worth it.

I loved the transmogrifier! And the ratings polls.

I'm convinced I've re enacted a few strops as the dad with my son as Calvin.

They were in a section with Far Side collections and Sam and Max comics. Clearly our librarian had a thing for absurdist humour.

Ha ha yeah

Sam and Max: Freelance Police was about a straight laced dog and insane rabbit detective duo who would investigate various incidents ranging from petty crimes to alien invasions.

There was a series of great PC games on them and a cartoon that was like watching an acid trip.

She had the best sense of humour. She said no one got her (except me). Lol! No one cracked an inappropriate joke like her.

When she was pregnant we went to an antenatal class full of nice middle class yuppies. We already looked out of place as the only goths within 5 miles. Then the class leader told everyone how a woman's nipples darken once she's had children. Cue my wife saying, "I'll remember to look for that the next time I'm watching a porno!". Absolute pin-drop silence while we chortled away together.

Yes! He wouldn’t make merch, he stopped after 10 years so he wouldn’t produce stale art for a paycheck… and he had some very profound things to say hidden behind the funny.
