Had it done last year.
Very odd sensation as you're awake and it's local anasthetic so can feel your nuts being tugged abojt from the inside ... quick procedure though. As long as you follow post op self care then there should be no risk of tubes healing back and causing whole thing to fail |

Had the snip years ago and was the best decision I ever made, nice quick and painless operation. Only advise I will give is as above, make sure that it is what you really want as reversal is costly and has a low success rate. |

Talk to a healthcare professional (GP?) for tips and advice. As much as us lot think we know stuff, we don’t know as much as the people who’ve trained in it professionally and deal with it every day.
If you’re taking healthcare advice from us weirdo sex junkies, then there may be negative consequences. However, since you have asked us, I recommend you get a friend with two bricks and let him use them to smash your testicles until you pass out. |

Best thing I ever had done.
Only felt a slight discomfort as they pulled and cut the tubes. But I wouldn't say that it hurt.
You'll be surprised how small your cock goes though, I swear it knows and it tries to vanish and take his balls with him. Haha
Don't be a hero though, loads of people go back to work the next day or soon after . Also alot of them get infections and have to have it done again.
The doc tells you to take 2 weeks off, so do it, put your feet up and enjoy thinking about never having to worry about pulling out or using condoms with her etc again. |

The smell of burning flesh was weird, especially as you know it's yours, but there are no real bodily sensations attached to it as the smell appears.
A tiny little bit of tugging, a strange, distant little sound like sawing through bone.
You're very aware of protecting them for about 5 days after, because they're swollen and sensitive, and, unless the process has changed, keeping on some manky, scabby, smelly surgical pants for 3+ days wasn't a highlight.
And I'd do it all again tomorrow.
But maybe that was because I had a coffee and a panini at the Carluccio's opposite the hospital.
It was great coffee . |

One final thing.
If you can say to yourself:
"I may not be with this partner forever, and I'm still OK with never, ever, ever having kids even if I have an amazing life develop with another partner years later", then you're ready for a vasectomy.
They can be reversed, not always successfully, and, as you're in your early 30s, you need to be prepared for the possibility of never having kids and grandkids etc for the next 60+ years of your life, or jumping through a few more hoops if you do decide to change your mind about having them (including adoption if reversal etc doesn’t work).
We'd made the 3 kids we wanted, and were approaching 40, so that side of our lives was fully satisfied.
As someone else posted above, you need to talk to someone about the consequences, which are going to affect the majority of your life, and that majority of your life is yet to come.
I hope you and your partner spend another glorious 60 years together, but you're the only one living every second of every day with the consequences of a vasectomy...wonderful in so many ways...terrible in others.
Go talk with a professional (GP or counsellor), which would include (I think) harvesting sperm for IVF later in life if you change your mind in 5/10/20 years etc. |

Had it done a few years ago now.
Nothing to it really. Must have been no more than 20 minutes. Kind of funny having my dick out whilst a few nurses made small talk Then after the procedure the nurse asked if I could show it to the student nurse. Of course everyone else has seen it today.
No uncomfort after, so there really is nothing to it |

A bit tender ? It felt like I'd been kicked in the balls for 24 hours |

Had it done years ago no issues really, was a bit strange though as the female surgeon had my balks in one hand a scalpel in the other but kept talking to me about football, I don’t think she was fully engaged with the task in hand |

I had it done just over a year ago. At that point we had 2 children and that was 1 more than I wanted.
The procedure was fairly painless with the slight smell of burning flesh was surreal, so was having two nurses chatting away while my Jacobs were being tugged and prodded.
I had some serious swelling after and was in lots of pain, it didn't help that my mother in law was sat around my house so couldn't really sit around with my Jacobs hanging out.
It took a little while to heal with the pain there for a good while after, it's taken until a month or so ago to get the all clear for swimmers to be gone.
So was it unpleasant? Yes
Was it worth it? Yes
Do I regret it? No |
