I like that it’s less of an echo chamber to Facebook type platforms though.

Yorkshire but travel

There does seem to be a lot more “content creators” profiles than actual swingers

Maybe commercial reasons post covid

Well, people chat, post photos and updates about themselves and there's even videos now. So there are similarities.

I'm sure some people use Facey to arrange no strings sex too, but you'd probably not get away with popping a video of you bashing one out over a photo of the queen for long before the Zuck had it removed and you got banned.

Is this linked to a lack of success in meeting people or just a passing observation, because there's always been an element of 'social media' to Fab and every other similar contact site on t'internet.

A lot of people who claim it's gone all 'social media' seem to do so in the same breath as saying how hard it is to meet people. As if it should somehow be 'easy' just because it's a site linked to sex.

A lot of us actually like being social with others, so an element of community and idle chit chat isn't actually a negative at all.....

"In what way?"

You can be as shitty as you want to someone with no repercussions

Nah. There are things you can do that will cross the line, either just on the site or (occasionally, rarely) beyond.

It's always been social media. It's a media you create an account on to socialise with strangers.

Is this still about your last friends experience? Is she as outraged by it as you?

I'd tend to agree with this, but the "social media" complaints tend to mean something specific when I've seen them before - people don't meet, people are trying to get attention for their photos, etc.

(Or there's a subset of people who unironically say "I'm not on social media" like they want a medal for not being on social media except Fab)

Yes!

Although everyone has the same sort of goal be it intimacy with someone in whichever form that takes, ie one off, fwb, deep connections or just friendships etc, everyone can voice an opinion and anything can be talked about (within legal/rule parameters). Different views and opinions don't matter and are in fact on a fair few threads actively encouraged.

Erm... Yes, and no.

Yes, in the sense that it is a "social" media of sorts, people use it to make friends, chat, flirt, and stay in touch with others. They also use it (or at least the forums) to discuss current issues etc.

No, as in, people dont post pictures of their dinner, or complain about the traffic cones on the by-pass, or gossip about "her at number 45".

Absolutely it’s social media. AND Dial-A-Shag.

Someone recently used the vanilla site we all know and love to bypass my filters on here so they could message me.

(And before people arrive and start telling me that I shouldn’t show my face or whatever else I’ve done that made it possible for this person to find me, do understand that I am aware of and comfortable with any and all of the risks I take.)

Every online form of communication has a block option.

Funny enough, I’m now in the position of knowing this person’s given name while not having the slightest idea who they might be on fab

I wish Zuck’s site would let me post pix of male genitalia as a profile pic.

Over there, I wouldn’t even hesitate.

I can’t tell my mates on Facebook that I wanna fuck em up the arse, or ask a hot chick if I can spaff on her tits.
