"ENFP-T
I assumed you were INFP. Deffo spilling feeler vibes everywhere though." tbf, I was only 57% extrovert on the test. So quite close.
You know I think I see the feeler vibes |

"Introvert but is trying to push myself to be more extrovert "
Haha, try not to let the desire to change who you really are get in the way. I enjoy talking to friends or new people, but trying to change myself to being extraverted is a pointless endeavour. If our brains are wired a certain way, we can only work with what we got. x |

Pretty sure that letter personality test was completely made up by some guy in an attempt to rip off big companies. It’s backed by literally zero evidence |

Yeah Carl Jung was a complete fraud"
I doubt he was. The amount of information he has brought to human awareness and consciousness through his learning and discoveries of the unconscious, dreams, our shadow side, universal archetypal figures and much more has put more light on many aspects of life we don't usually see. |

Seen people say that psychology is subject to people’s views and interpretations but, the broad sort of principles are generally right.
There’s always stuff around edges of any subject people will pick a fight on. |

I thought it was Myers-Briggs who created this test shortly after the Second World War? I guess she might have based it on the work of Carl Jung and other psychologist.
Anyways my understand is modern neuroscience has completely debunked MBTI as being a useless / meaningless test. |

It was based on Carl Jung's work. I was also being sarcastic about the fraud part.
Modern psychology doesn't like it but also made their own personality test up. |

"Is there a difference between extroverted introvert and introverted extrovert?
Is the latter adjective one’s foundation and the former a tendency?"
The way I understand it is that introverts are drained by company and extroverts are energised by company. |

Something super interesting I listened to a little while ago, was based on introversion and extroversion. Apparently the reason introverts spend more time away from others, is because they are satisfied easier/quicker by interaction, and extroverts need more interaction to feel satisfied so they spend more time around others. But also introverts seem to prefer less stimulating environments than extroverts. So that definitely seems to be related to the energy thing. |

That does make sense and I’m probably more introvert than extrovert.
But the thrust of my question is:
Is an introverted extrovert the same as an extroverted introvert? ie does it matter/make a difference what way round one places those words? |

MBTI was constructed by two American women, inspired by the book Psychological Types by Carl Jung |

They're different.

"Fuck knows. What's with the need to label every facet of ourselves anyway? "
I agree with the labels and stuff, but also good to know the way you work/function best in the world. |

"What are you? Introverted, extroverted, introverted extrovert or ambivert?"
Depends on the day of the week and which way the wind is blowing.
Some days I'm so introverted I can happily not communicate with a living soul.
Others I need constant stimulation and a chance to satisfy my extrovert side.
I've realised over the last year that I don't fit in to any one category, my brain is a little bit neurospicy at times and my personality and how I feel I can interact with others varies wildly from day to day, dependant on my mood, what's going on in my life and the company I'm around.
And that's fine. Recognising it has helped me over the last year massively, as has spending lots of time with other ND people.
I no longer feel the need to label myself as anything. Take me as I am and accept that, like many, I'll have my good days and bad days. |

"Fuck knows. What's with the need to label every facet of ourselves anyway? "
It's a handy tool in a work environment when you're building a team and assigning tasks/duties/responsibilities.
Matching the task to the individuals personality traits is plain common sense. |

Maybe so, but the Myer's Briggs system isn't based on evidence, the way that reasonably we'd expect from something of that ilk, used to determine personal/financial success
We may as well make a fab system up, here in the forum |

Doesn't figuring yourself out and your place in the world come with living? I think sticking a label on something helps to steer in a direction you might not have necessarily gone in without it.
I guess the opposite could be true but in my experience, if you pit someone in a box, they'll take the box on as part of their personality. |
