What’s up with the wank-n-ghost?
Back in my day, we’d have the one night stand, and then they’d never call.
But it made SOME kind of sense - you both got sex out of the equation.
I started noticing this phenomenon in maybe 2019… so before lockdowns. Can’t blame the lockdowns and resulting lack of social… intercourse (tee hee).
Wank-n-ghost is when someone you’ve never met slides into your DMs… the chat gets sexual… maybe there are pix, maybe you even see them on video call… then they cum, and POOF! Gone. Sometimes they even block you.
It doesn’t hurt my feelings (I don’t have those anymore) but it absolutely baffles me.
Why would anyone choose to sext someone (read: wank) and ghost… over meeting them and having the sex BEFORE ghosting?
I mean, this is a poor substitute for the one night stand, and everything that goes with it… the walk of shame! How can you do the walk of shame if all you got was a wank that you could have had on your own?
I’m genuinely puzzled by this phenomenon. And it happens more from vanilla social networks than from here or from dating apps. Way more. |

Minor kink, I suppose. It’s the thought of having a sexy liaison that gets them going. Maybe they don’t have the freedom/bravery/whatever to nurture a potential meet, so they get their rocks off by sexy talk, pictures and imagination. Maybe they’ve got low self esteem.
I agree, I’ll take good sex over a wank’n’ghost anytime (great name btw!), but I love female company and have the freedom to give you (all) a night you’ll never forget  |

It's a very good conundrum you pose.
It's my belief (and only my opinion) that many (not all) people get off on this alone.
Some may not actually wish to meet but simply have a "pen friend" that aligns with their own sexual, or other, fantasies and don't wish for that fantasy to become a reality.
The easiest out for many is to simply stop dead in their tracks with no explanation. As frustrating as it can be, it's something that all members of any sites or forums should expect to be recipients of occasionally.
This isn't aimed at any one person, but simply my belief and I apologise if it differs profoundly from others. |

I don't give them anything to wank over. The ones who actually want to meet will stick around, the wankers quickly realise they're wasting their time and disappear.

People ghost after meeting up in person. It’s just a thing now I’ve found, and something I’ve started to accept sadly.  I’m not happy about it, but what can you do? |
