"Yes, in Rendezvous contact magazine. How the world's changed!
Didn't it take about 3 months to get a reply?"
About 2 weeks. But then we used to send a postcard back home from aboard and get home before the postcard |

Was many years ago when we dipped our toes in for the first time & yes "Contact" magazine was the only way to do it & it was termed wife swapping not swinging & I can't remember any single males of females, private parties for couples only (singles advertised in the lonely hearts columns of the local paper) or if you were lucky to manage to exchange telephone numbers with someone for a one to one meet, now it's easier to meet in clubs or online & full of singles & people cheating on their partners as an extention to Tinder or POF |

My 1st experience was with a couple I meet in a normal bar whilst working in Cumbria, I was 19yo they were in their 30s, no Internet or mobile phones, I got to meet others through them, their friends and once trusted invite to parties, there was a regular parties in a Cumbria venue nicknamed "the dickery" and I was lucky enough to make friends in there.
I never used contact mags but my Cumbrian friends did and I had a nose through them, they also used a selling newspaper, I remember it being printed on yellow paper but I can't remember the name of it |
