Didn't it take about 3 months to get a reply?

We used contact mags for ages. Stiletto Heel was our mag of choice. Used to take a couple of weeks to get replies, but the result was always exciting

About 2 weeks. But then we used to send a postcard back home from aboard and get home before the postcard

Was many years ago when we dipped our toes in for the first time & yes "Contact" magazine was the only way to do it & it was termed wife swapping not swinging & I can't remember any single males of females, private parties for couples only (singles advertised in the lonely hearts columns of the local paper) or if you were lucky to manage to exchange telephone numbers with someone for a one to one meet, now it's easier to meet in clubs or online & full of singles & people cheating on their partners as an extention to Tinder or POF

I’ve kept a “fun” memory box with all sorts in it - even got a holiday brochure (remember those!) for Hedonism that must be 20 years old!

I think I used Desire contact mag back in the day. Even back then there were time wasters.

Nah, far too young to know what a "mag" is?!

My 1st experience was with a couple I meet in a normal bar whilst working in Cumbria, I was 19yo they were in their 30s, no Internet or mobile phones, I got to meet others through them, their friends and once trusted invite to parties, there was a regular parties in a Cumbria venue nicknamed "the dickery" and I was lucky enough to make friends in there.

I never used contact mags but my Cumbrian friends did and I had a nose through them, they also used a selling newspaper, I remember it being printed on yellow paper but I can't remember the name of it

Yes loved them very few time wasters at all as you to send reply to box no with your address . Mine and ex wife read adds for months before putting own add even then not knowing if we go all way . We did and loved it.
