the blood out of me.
Blood donation done today for another few months.
If you don't donate please think about doing it, there's loads of donation sites all over the country and you could possibly do it in your lunch break if you don't have a physical job.
Look into it, especially if you're O- like me, as they desperately need our blood.
Oh, and it's practically painless pricks plus you get free juice and a snack afterwards |

Give blood every chance I get. It’s free and it helps people
Tried to give plasma too but sadly I wasn’t suitable
The nurses are always really lovely and you get treats after. Win win |

Some people were giving platelets today, which seems a much more complicated procedure and takes longer. |

"Oh well done.
Sadly I’m not allowed to. Which makes me sad. But I shall remind all my mates to on my behalf! "
I feel I should give something back as I've had a fair bit from the NHS over the years.
I had a break due to a particular medication making me ineligible for donation but I'm back on it now. |

Yeah, I hate that I can’t. But similarly due to my meds I’m ineligible. |

"Do you feel all lightheaded afterwards?"
No, you sit at a table afterwards for 10-15 minutes and drink water or juice and have a snack if you want it.
I don't feel any different and you soon make up the blood you donate. |

I don’t even do that, I just grab snacks and leave
I’ve felt extra tired that evening, but never light headed or anything |

They wouldn't let me leave today until I'd had a drink and sat for 15 minutes.

They try that with me and I always just say no, I’m fine and leave
Someone’s they’ll say I have to stay, maybe a little mean of me but I just say no, I’m busy, I’ve gotta go
I usually donate on my break at work so I really can’t sit around |

It's precautionary I suppose, in case you don't drink afterwards and keel over.

They call us first responder donors because of that.

"I'm O neg but they won't let me donate!
Is that because of medication?
No, because I have a hole in my heart and because my veins are too y!
*Too wéédy
That sounds a bit dangerous
Which bit?! "
All of it. |
