Anyone else's policy spiralled this year? No accidents, claims or convictions and no changes to the policy but for market reasons it's increased by £195.
Does that seem unreasonable to anyone else? It looks like I will have to move from my insurers of many years, which is a pisser.

There is no benefit of staying with one insurer. You do not owe them any loyalty and they for sure won't hesitate to dump you. Go online on the compare sites and you'll get the best offers, if you really want to stay with your current, then contact them and tell them the best offer you got and ask if they'll match it, if not then move on! |

Up £175 to £450 I’ve never claimed or had accident in over 25yrs no points either, I really played my face to them I’d been with same insurance co for almost 20yrs (so much for loyalty) pissed me off seeing adverts for the company on Tv, told them to look after present customers rather than tout for new ones, told me reason for price hike was crash 4 cash claims and electric cars were more expensive to repair after an accident |

I’m worried about seeing my renewal when it comes through in February, it went up from £600 to £850. I shopped about and I had quotes of £2k with some insurance companies.
No doubt it will have gone
No points, no claims in the last 10 years |

Rip off Britain.
Insurance is a legalised scam.
Working classes are being forced out of ownership of pretty much anything.
I can genuinely see workhouses returning to our society within 20 years.
Electric car's minimum price 30k
Ground source heat pumps 15 grand installation costs.
Home car charger cost 5k if you have the ability to have one not everyone lives in a house with a driveway.
House prices unachievable for working class.
Car insurance through the roof to fund rich people driving round in 50+ grand electric car's that catch fire.
Heating your house thousands.
Travel to work via public transport thousands.
Dental treatment thousands.
Private medical treatment many many thousands.
Hidden taxes to fund stupid redundant schemes such as HS2 something no-one wanted.
Additional taxes to fund housing and looking after male asylum seekers who are just looking for free money.
The list goes on
People earning what should be a decent wage being priced out of living.
These increases are unsustainable how much longer can this go on??

I'll never understand insurance.
This year I went from an old womans car that was really slow to a newer BMW n there was 9 months left on the insurance n it was only an extra £30 for the 9 months, I was expecting a minimum of £150 extra |

In order to keep costs down you HAVE to leave your current insurer… Their business relies on your laziness or reluctance to find a better deal. They creep up premiums using algorithms based on renewal apathy.
Do it more than a month before your insurance expires… when they know you are canny and not desperate to re-insure your deal will be optimised to win / retain you as a customer. They might pretend after revealing you have been offered a better deal to ‘talk to my manager’ - they are staring at the lower limits they can offer to retain your custom, it’s on the screen in front of them. It’s bullshit and you have to play the game. |

My own one went up a fair bit this year, but I’ve now insured a second car (belonging to a family member).
Was pleasantly surprised how cheap it was to do a multi-car arrangement. Overall, I feel the price is pretty reasonable for both |

My (layman’s) understanding is that a lot of the increase is down to labour and materials costs for repairs. It’s just being passed on.
The other fact is that a lot of electric cars have their batteries integrated into the chassis and if there is _any_ issue with the battery then the whole car has to be junked. I think Tesla are particularly bad for this and this is also driving premiums up massively. |

Electric cars very very rarely set alight unless something is seriously wrong
More cars and trucks burn regularly due to bad maintenance and accidents. And as for cars being scrapped, even if an electric cars bodywork is totalled the battery is still worth thousands.
Please stop reading the crap newspapers being subsidised by oil
Drive what you like it's upto you but nobody else is jumping in saying oil burning cars are putting our insurance prices up. |
