"Out of those 2 definitely Spandau. I was a Whamette so I was never into Duran Duran "
I was a boy so thought all 3 mentioned were shit. Later in life I acknowledged that spandau had a couple of decent tracks along with Duran Duran. Wham though are still shit.

There has only ever been one answer to that question Woody
Duran Duran is correct.
And I'll fight anyone who says otherwise... in a boxing ring, semi naked, with pillows, whilst being filmed

This is blasphemy. We can no longer be friends. My choice in men is entirely based on George Michael…

Went to some excellent gigs in the 80's, including
Howard Jones
Bryan Adams
Simple Minds
OMD
Queen
T'Pau
Huey Lewis and the News
And a couple of years ago I was really saddened to read that Huey Lewis had gone deaf |

"Metallica
Megadeath
Motörhead
Slayer
Faith No More
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
That was the 80’s for me "
From that list Metallica became legendary
The early Metallica albums are absolutely brilliant. |

If I had to Tony Ballet. I’ve never bought music by either.
My 80s was listening to bands from up here. |

Both had some great songs, but I would have to say that Duran Duran had a slight edge out of the two of them.
As with the Blur/Oasis thing, I always thought there were many other, better bands. I never had a side and always just enjoyed all of the music from everyone.
It's also worth remembering that there were bands like Bonjovi, Def Lepord, and GnR around in the 80's AND 90's... and they're going to come out on the top of any "Battle of the Bands", NOT oasis or Spandau.
Through the Baricades is one of my all time favourite songs though.
