to lots of old clothes, some of which I have not worn for years. I have been filling several bags for charity and still not done. Do you get rid of yours or still have stuff you never wear?

I’m a minimalist - one rail 24 items. If I want something new I have to get rid of something first.

No, they just get downgraded from:

for best - going out - work - knocking about in - doing odd jobs in - disposing of bodies and then the bin

I've filled three bags so far. I've given up hoping I'll go back to a size 12 (it's been over a decade).

I do get rid of clothes I don't wear but I can go years between each wear. There's three bags in the spare room waiting to go to the charity shop.

"Give what I don’t wear to the homeless "

Love this. If you have anything warm OP, plenty of folks would be happy for them right now.

I usually ask first if there's something they need then bring it back later, rather than doing a bag rummage in the street. Jumpers, gloves, hats, and clean/new socks is a common answer. As is a hot meal or £15 for a hostel for the night but that's not what this thread is about.

I envy this simplicity! I have a walk in closet and it's definitely more than 24 items.

I’d rather give my stuff away to people that need it than sell it for a few quid on Facebook marketplace lol… some of the stuff I see on there sometimes, people selling a T-shirt for 50p, I mean is it really worth selling, give it to charity or someone who really needs it lol

Maybe the person selling it really needs the money

Love that… and it will end up with somebody who’s not having a great time and struggling, who will appreciate it, worth far more than a bit of change in our pockets

I did do small clearouts every now and then hut not a big one. Not for long time but before that I used to buy far too many clothes. No idea why. Perhaps I was far more materialistic those days or some other deeper reason.

Charity.

Or

I have a clothes swap with friends. We each bring a bag of clothes, shoes etc that we no longer wear and put them round the room. Open some fizz and then hunt through for new stuff.

The only rules are that what you bring must be still in great condition and if more people want the same garment.. They try and the room votes who it suits best.

So much fun and great for topping up the wardrobe!

That’s a great idea, I’d make sure I only invited my very rich friends, which now means I’d be sat there on my own, as I have no rich friends, or actual friends, so I’d leave very d*unk wearing my old clothes lol…. Result !

Paper Town Central, Essex.

New item in, old item out.

Wash and fold them and drop them off to the local homeless shelter if in good condition or material re cycling place for a bit of cash that then gets donated to the shelter.
