Absolutely legend… there is no sweeper position without franz…

There is none of this quarterback spraying the ball around defensive midfielder without franz….

As a ex plodding defensive midfielder myself.. you watch him play and you appreciate the all round game he had!!!

Mario Zagallo who died a couple of days ago also won it as player and manager.

Both were footballing geniuses.

Nope…. France’s didier dechamp , and Brazils Mario zegalo (who died a few days ago) also have won as player and manager

One of those players whose talent had the gravitational pull to fundamentally alter how the game was played. The sweeper position was invented to maximise his talents and continued to be played for a good couple of decades after he retired. It is the mark of a truly great player that to reshape the tactics of your sport.
