You can now get vouchers for theatre and shows all over the country. No expiry date and advertised as sold in High Street Shops. Start from £5 - good luck from me, a mum of several

Flowers. And a card. Sorted.

Tell her you love her too. What else could a mum want.

speaking as a mum, the best for me would be to have my little family together, grandkids n all, at one table for meal and chill time.

I am coming from the mum's stance - I personally would not want chocolates or perfumes (I prefer to choose my own) and the tickets I can use when I want to and for whatever show like a West End one. I thought when I heard about it on a radio ad that it was a super idea and away from the traditional head scratching "What can we get mum this year"...

Exactly what I am having, my daughter's partner is cooking for his mum and me, and my other children and my grandsons will be there. Just nice to have all the family together.

I think if you're treating everyone that's present enough isn't it? I sent my mum flowers and had a card made with a pic of me and the sprog on the front

Apparently (if you believe the media) most mums would be happier with breakfast in bed and a lie-in rather than gifts?

I am looking forward to mine

For me just spending some time tomorrow with all my kids together is the best present for me ....cards and presents dont mean as much and spending time with them all together

As for my Mother's Day I'll be getting bugger all because my tight arsed nasty bastard of an ex husband refused to take my daughter for anything but what he realises is I don't care cos my girl will be back with me at 9 in the morning and that's present enough for me

leather purse, credit card holder, rose bush associated with her name, crystal wine glass, good wine, silk scarf in her favourite colour.

My ideal gift front son would be to hear from him

I'll be working a 13 hour shift and if either of my children try to give me something, I'll be very disappointed that they had to wait for a pseudo 'celebration' to let me know they are thinking of me.

I kind of agree but mothering Sunday as a day to remember your Mum does go back a long way, people in service would go and visit their mothers. I also think that most people do remember their mums the rest of the year and the ones that don't won't bother with mothering Sunday either.

...and I sort of agree with you but the true meaning has been completely lost and as with everything else has been lost to commercialism.
