Are you lonesome tonight?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Or, to be more specific, who will be spending tonight on their own? Doesn't have to be a bad thing - you might be happy about it - but if you'd like some virtual company this evening, come and say hello. |

"Yup. Just deciding what tattoo to get next and listening to some metal.
A meet didn't go ahead and an unusual social. Not the best day."
What are the options re: the tattoo? Sorry to hear about the meet. |

"I’m not lonesome but I’ve been alone a few days. I’ve needed it tbh x
I actually need a fair bit of alone time too so I totally get this. Have you enjoyed it? "
Errr… is it ok if I don’t answer that OP? Because it’s not really appropriate for me to say I’m enjoying myself at the min. Thanks x |

I'm alone every night at the moment because...
a) I'm incredibly fussy about who I meet, and
b) I'm in the final 6 months of my Open Uni BA and if I let anything distract me I just know I'll f**k it up |

Thanks Glyn. A part time degree usually takes 6 years. This is my 10th year lol. Life - work, family, health etc just kept getting in the bloody way. But thankfully I'm on the home run now |

Thanks Classical Studies, which I finished last year; and Creative Linguistics which is what I'm completing at the moment. I shall be sooo relieved when I submit my final paper in June. |

Level 1 was broad-based ancient Greek and Roman history. Level 2 - Homer's Iliad & Odyssey, Aeschylus' Persians & Aristophanes' Lysistrata plus Athens and the age of Pericles. Level 2 Roman was everything about Republican society. Final year was a choice between Roman Empire or Classical Mythology. I chose the latter and studied Ovid's Metamorphoses in depth. I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in it |

I'm watching a 70s ghost story called The Ferryman (part of a series called Haunted). It stars Jeremy Brett as a writer who has a big success with a novel about a Ferryman taking ghostly revenge. To his annoyance people assume he believes in ghosts, but when he and his wife find themselves stranded at an Inn containing a number of unlikeky similarities to his book, he has to reconsider... |

"I'm a military history lad so that's the reason I love him so much "
Ah, I get it I wish I felt the same, but I found all the text on the Persian and Peloponnesian Wars really hard-going |

Yeah, I did my final dissertation on myths by Roman poet Ovid, of which so many are relatable to real life historic events and have inspired writers and artists for centuries. So, I wrote about how Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli was inspired by Ovid's work to create the painting La Primavera, which is my favourite painting in Florence Uffizi Gallery |

I live alone and so am by myself most nights.
I generally enjoy living alone, only occasionally does it get lonely.
I just climbed into bed and that always feels like a lonely time. Not in a sexual way, but laying alone in bed just feels quite lonely. |

Yeah I'm the same - mostly happy on my own but there are times a bed feels cold and empty when you're the only one in it. |

Yep, it's me, the kids and the dog. Everyone else is in bed and I'll not be long behind them. I had a late one last night and an early rise for a weekend this morning too. I'm knackered so bed for me. |
