I strongly disagree TD being the worst, sorry!
Until Skyfall, I considered him the second best Bond after Sean Connery.
However, Daniel Craig has now nudged him off the second place post.

No chance! I wouldn't watch any bond film unless it had Sean Connery or Daniel Craig in it! Td was definitely the worst of the rest! |

"We all have our favourite Bonds. But I'm sure we can all agree Dalton was shit.
Surely!?
He is not a bad as that ugly charmless twat Craig"
Daniel Craig is not conventionally handsome but very, very fuckable! |

"Has anyone read the Ian Fleming story octopussy?
Yes, but I'm not wholly sure Fleming actually wrote it."
Fleming wrote a short story called octopussy
It was bonds first mission
Nothing like the film, completely different planet |

Fleming's "Octopussy and The Living Daylights" is a long way from what we know as Fleming's Bond. |

Dalton played it as Fleming envisaged him. He wasn't supposed to be uber-smooth. The VERY worst must have been Lazenby. But Woody Allen was quite good as well. |

Brosnan was pretty cool. I think it's got something to do with which Bond you saw as a kid at the flix.
Loved Roger's portrayal - the one liners were some of the best - he seemed to not be taking things too seriously, which is always healthy!
Craig in the latest one made it a film that stands on it's own as a good picture, let alone a good bond movie. |

"If it wasn't for the Bourne trilogy you wouldn't be getting the "bonds" you are now...
Matt Damon rocks....!"
The Bourne films are brilliant films but Matt Damon is a bit "boyish". I can see the appeal that Daniel Craig has, and for me, he's the best Bond. |

"Sean Connery
Daniel Craig
Peirce Brosnan
Timothy Dalton
Roger Moore
George Lazenby
David Niven
But thats just my opinion. Everyone has their own favs." Just about agree but would put Dalton above Brosnan |

I think I'm right that Timothy Dalton was the only classically trained actor to play James Bond, and the first one to play him in a serious mode.
He only did one Bond film though didn't he? May be if he'd done another one, he might get a little more praise.
I never rated Roger Moore's portrayal. He played it too close to Sean Connery's and didn't quite have the same charisma for me. |

Craig does have a great physique, though personally I reckon he's had a little chemical assistance, and whilst he's not particularly good looking facially its his eyes that make him attractive - they're strong, intelligent eyes. |

Dalton had 2 very poor films to act in, poor stories, poor villains and not great women! Don't think he made a bad fist of it really. You can't go wrong with Sean followed by pierce |

I did a LOT of wanking over (well, in my dreams!) Jill St John in 'that bikini' in Diamonds are Forever... she was definitely the first Bond Girl in my wank bank.. |

I always get him confused with a CGI performance, he doesn't look quite human enough. And it's because of his eyes, they don't look real. He looks like he has walked out of one his own PS3 games. |

You have to remember that bond was based on real-life rich playboy spies in the employ of the govt. public school types that could genuinely mingle with the rich and powerful in a casino yet handle a situation if they were caught.
Anyway:
Connery- good looking thug in a dinner jacket
Moore- pinch of salt, he said he realised his storylines were a bit 'comic book'
Dalton- serious as a reaction to Moore's films. A bit like Bale's Batman compared to burton 's
Brosnan- best mixture of the lot, i reckon
Craig- a response to the reality and grit of the Bourne films |
