I’m not really bothered by any. If I fancy someone I quite like it.

I use pet names sometimes when I forget names which is awful. It happened today at work with a colleague. Completely spaced on her name so called her buddy. She knew exactly what I was doing so she reminded me of her name and we had a laugh about it. Her go to is hun when she forgets names.

I haven’t been with this company very long so there was a good bit of grace from her towards me and I won’t forget it again!

Babes *shudders*

But generally I quite like having pet/nick names. I find it endearing and friendly.

Not pet names exactly, but..

.."good boy" or "young man" from particular people in the past have rubbed against my nerves..

I think, they think they perceive a lack of maturity, so it gives them license to talk down to me, despite my age

I love pet names, “treacle” makes me weak at the knees. But that could be my kink for the DD/lg dynamic

"Babe" or "babes" or "hun"

Or by a total stranger "darling" or "sweetheart" especially if they are older, just has an air of them being patronising

All over

I think when young people call someone a lot older a mate does sound strange. The guy at the till in the coop can't be much older than 16 and calls everyone a mate.

Ahhh from strangers it's a bit different. Now that I think about it, I hate being called buddy. It just sounds so condescending!
