I grew up listening to his music as my parents were always playing it. Even though he was known as an actor I’ll always think of him as a singer.

RIP David

I always thought Hutch was the cooler of the two but that was because I didn't look anything like Starsky.

Salem's Lot had a profound effect on many when it first aired.

St Leonards

Ooohhh..I was introduced to him just as I was in the middle of a drumstick (chewy lolly sweet) eating competition.

It was dark, at a club/party.

I had 4 in my mouth, was dribbling, and my jaws were clamping together with the hard sticky of them.

I was tapped on the shoulder, turned to say "hello", and what came out was kind of a demented, drooling Chewbacca sound.

I wasn't very popular for the rest of the night .

RIP Chewy Chewy Guy.

Worthing

Saturday night tv was Starskey and Hutch for me as a kid. Great memories of him in that series with Paul Michael Glasier.

Me too, I must of been about 6 or 7yrs old when I first saw it..s**t scary!

When ever I read the book, I always have the image of David Soul in my head, even though he doesn't fit the description of the character he played on screen.

RIP

RIP David Soul like a few have already mentioned I also grew up watching Starsky & Hutch and I had a Starsky & Hutch T-shirt.It seems a little strange but last week I watched Magnum Force and a young David Soul starred along side Clint Eastwood who is older and still alive

That’s sad to hear, another child hood icon bites the dust, there are fewer and fewer of them left, kinda makes you start to feel a bit old.
