12 Angry Men. Absolute classic - although it's more about the jury's deliberations than the cut and thrust of the trial itself so might not be what you mean.

Book would be To Kill a Mockingbird.

However the Henry Fonda 12 Angry Men is a better film in my opinion. The cast, acting and tension building throughout the film is wonderful to watch.

Anatomy of a Murder starring one of my fave actors, James Stewart (though prefer his Westerns).

It’s one of those 1950’s classics.

I saw a fantastic film called Fracture, starring Anthony Hopkins.

Not sure if it counts under ypur criteria, but it was all about ultimately manipulating a trial

But Jagged Edge is my favourite and presumed innocent, I do love a good courtroom drama.

12 angry men. Strikingly similar to my own Jury experience. Exept that it was the other way around. Where it started with only me saying guilty, and we ended up convicting the guy for kiddie fiddling.

Anyone seen Anatomy of a Fall? It's in cinemas at the moment. Excellent Anglo/French courtroom drama. Sandra Huiller is outstanding, Golden Globe nominated and must be up for an Oscar for it.

If it's an old film, then Witness for the Prosecution (Charles Laughton is brilliant as a barrister in it) or Eight O'Clock Walk, with Dickie Attenborough on trial for the murder of a child he didn't commit.
