To be honest I don't think you can as people look like people not a kind of person. The only way to find out is listen to conversations and drop a few hints |

I mentioned in another thread that I think people who knew us would be very surprised that we are swingers, so I've no idea how someone we didn't know could tell. That twinkle of lust in our eyes? |

"Haha, maybe we should devise a universal sign or code? Like a carnation in button hole or rolled up newspaper lol."
I have a little Chameleon pinned on my coat that I got from Chams. Its on a pink branch, which means bi. The yellow branch means straight.
Maybe someone will stop me and say 'hey, do you visit Chams?'
Worth a try! |

"This may seem silly and I fear I am opening myself to ridicule, but how would I spot a swinger, or how would I. identify myself as being aproachable and interested in that type of fun? ,x"
Would you really be happy with people approaching you at the shops or in a bar ...i'm not having a dig just curious |

"We had a Fabulous holiday", "we had a fabulous one as well".
"Fancy a quick shag?"
"You dirty disgusting pervert" "someone call the police, we got a right perv here"
Not quite right some how is it |

"Just tell them your a swinger and ask if they are ? Simple."
We did this in a hotel next door to a well known club in West Brom.
Got some funny looks, but had a very full table in the bar after about an hour. |

Got to think harder....
If someone said to me they'd had a FAB day - my mind wouldn't turn to swinging. I'd just think they hadn't got beyond groovy sixties slang ....
Do the ....... 'My friend' thing.....
e.g. My friend has joined a swinging site..... sounds fun .... i'm going to look at it later see if it's worth joining.

In regular pubs and clubs (and other social situations!), if I'm feeling frisky, I am just a lot flirtier than I used to be. I make more eye-contact, I initiate the conversation, tell slightly riskier jokes. If the other person is responding, I'll lean in and touch their leg or arm. And it's usually 'message received and understood'
They probably think that I'm 'promiscuous' rather than thinking I'm a swinger, but does that bother me? Nah! |

I wouldnt "advertise" myself in shops, so no problem about being approached but as for being approached in bars, the chance would be a fine thing.
I will email fab and suggest a range of merchandising.
I love the car sticker idea. If the volvo is rocking, please come a knockin'
T-shirts with "What happens in Fab, stays in fab",
Badges with "Looking for a Fab time" |

All this is okay until someone tells the press or someone finds out and you have to explain it to your family and friends!
Lots of different ones out there, all the groups would have to agree on a standard. Another way is a phrase. "Are you a friend of Ellis? " LS as in lifestyle. Personally, we wouldn't bother. Our life outside of swinging is more important. |

The German site we use has a full set of merchandise. They have badges, beach towels, T shirts, and lots more, even branded condoms and contact cards are available. I suppose if you have got to the condom stage though you are well past the "are you a swinger" bit
Maybe FAB could try something similar, not only a service for the members but could even make a few quid for the site. |

I keep seeing this Noones.. Who is he??? I presume you mean "no one or no one's"? I know it is picky, but just thought I would point it out!
The Swing Pin is at best a very expensive cheap piece of jewellery and at worst, a way of family and friends finding out what you do. Been around for a few years and was advertised on a pay site we are on. Never encountered one at any time, so I would guess they have plenty left.
The pay site we are on does have a range of merchandise but although we have some, it only comes out when we are in Cap d’Agde. Perhaps a club visit too, but not usually. Our family does know what we do, but we wouldn’t want it to become common knowledge around our neighbourhood. The Swing Pin was “outted” in the News of the World at one point as were several other “identifiers”. Just remember, they are on sale to all and that includes those who want a juicy story to sell papers

Yep it's being picky ( and the fact i use my phone doesnt help autocorrect can be a bitch if your not careful and so is big fingers and little keyboards) next your be saying ain't isnt a word lol.
On another note any identifier risks becoming common knowledge, it just depends on how much you wish to let others know |

I have emailed FAB with the merchandising idea and they have thanked me for the enquiry and will look into it.
I hardly think I am the first person to think of it and maybe I am naive, but I have never heard of theses "identifiers" before. |

"I'm not that confident alone in social situations. A million knockbacks have dented it."
When you are friendly and others are not just remember - it's probably their problem.

Most swingers that I have seen look like butter wouldn't melt lol. Now if there was such a hand shake or code that wouldn't last long as soon as the papers no about its finished. Thank god for the internet let's be fair being a swinger is about living double lives. Excitement
Can anyone add to this |

If I remember correctly the magazine 'Forum' issued a lapel badge in the shape of a small dove, also when smoking was allowed in pubs ect, a zippo lighter with the same shape inprinted which you could leave openly on your table to view. It would be recognised by swingers all over the UK at the time. I was told that it worked on a social scale.
