Remeber the old 5 pence ?? The one before the toy ones we have now..
Well glue 2 together spray them gold and ET VOILA you have a pound coin for trolleys etc when you go shopping |

just glue them together and don't spray them gold...doubt there'd be a problem then as they are not in current use...and I don't think it is against the law to use alternatives to £1 coins in supermarket trollies as there are plenty of trolley coins around |

Go to customer service in Tesco.
Tell them you have no cash only your cards.
They will give you a token as long as you tell them you will take it back.
Got 2 in the car now |

long time ago whilst serving in the RAF in germany we used to bring loads of shilllings back as they were the same size as a german mark the fag machines took them so for 15p you could get a packet of fags on the train station |

In the 60s my uncle worked in Germany, and would take £s worth of shillings back with him.
He would get stamps out of machines and use them in shops as currency.
20 Marks for a £1 was a great exchange rate. |

The mark was at about 4.20 to the pound at the time as well. The phone boxes took them as well so phoning home was well cheap |
