That's probably meant as a compliment but you hate been called?
Cute. That's mine. It gives me a weird tingly feeling, the creepy kind not the good kind.
And it also proves that men lie because of all the things I am, cute is not one of them.

"Cute irks me too.
I assume it's what a woman might say about a child or puppy rather than a hunk of manliness whose clothes she wants to rip off (I'm rarely that guy, but got to aim high...)."
See, I'm guilty of calling guys it. Double standards and all! |

Oh yes, I use it all the time too. Hoorah for hypocrisy!
Pains me, but I probably am more *cute* than *hot*. Such is life.

I'm not posting it because someone, somewhere, will use it. And that will mildly irk me. I had to resist the temptation to call you a cutie pie OP, I don't think others will have the same level of self control. |

"You are cute. Like Gizmo from gremlins.
This is why I don't meet guys after midnight.
Also, I'd be a disappointment after her.
Probably explains why you don’t like sunlight too."
And showering |

"Adorable.
I am not adorable, I'm an actual grown up with a grown up job, responsibilities and such.
No idea why but it drives me nuts as it isn't meant badly when said
MrsAbz "
See this one hits home, I like it and hate it as only one guy has ever called me this. |

"I’ve learned that I’m okay with most words. Even the ones I really hate being called … I’m okay with being called them by the right person. Turns out things depend on context."
Which ones do you hate? Just out of interest. |

"Mama - yeah its a caring nurturing figure/latin american term of endearment but i hate it.
Its cringy "
Chica is another one I’ve heard like this.
Doesn’t bother me though. I think it’s endearing. |

glasgow-ish |
A few years ago a middle aged woman serving in a branch of boots used to call me things like ‘sweetheart’ ‘gorgeous’ ‘cutie’ when buying meal deal lunches.
I always thought she was taking the piss, so i’d giggle at some of them but usually leave a bit confused. |

More than once I have been called a 'beautiful man', which makes me feel a little weirded out, but at least it has been by women......well, except that one time.. |

"I'm with the OP I hate being called cute. A baby is cute. A puppy is cute. No woman wants to rip the clothes off a man they think is cute!
See above, Joe. I hear you."
Holy shit, practically word for word I hear you though! |

Baby
Bae
Babe
Sweetheart
Sweetie
Cutie
Sexy
Gorgeous
I had a cleaner who would sweetheart me every single time she’d chat to me if I was there when she was over cleaning. I never knew if she was taking the piss or being genuine. It irked me and every time anyone calls me sweetheart since I instantly have imagines of her with gloves and cleaning brushes rushing through my mind. |

Not really. Though my most recent ex used to call me mate when she was pissed and in a ratty mood. She'd put this really nasty sounding tone to the word, used to really get under my skin |

Completely agree! I just don't get the logic - what's naughty about two consenting adults acting like adults? |
