Come to London. Either CNL or picnic in the park are not too big or overwhelming in numbers as the others. Northampton too - Grumpy is a host extraordinaire.

Depends what environment you thrive in or what are your fears ? I want the host to be on top of things and checking in on guests, engaging even minutely with everyone.. but that's not always possible with big socials.

We hope there’s another Manchester Social / MLS too, they are sorely missed and all the organisers did a brilliant job. If the social gap in Manchester remains we may have to take matters into our own hands. Now imagine the chaos that would entail?

Glasgow is good for randoms. Most of the attendees wouldn’t know the Lounge forum if it hit them in the face. London and Manchester are good for forum people. Loads of the buggers there.

Yes, I love the energy of it. The organisers do a great job of ensuring a safe space for people to let their hair down, it's brilliant and you can talk to so many people if that's what you want to do. Or just a few. It's bigger than some but not cliquey. I have a lot of time for UtB.

Did you not get pussy?lol they were socials not sex meets

Shocking I know, but this is what puts me off going "

I will say this; group socials would be a lot more fun if there was less virtual willy waving.

Guys, chill out - just enjoy it for what it is and stop trying so hard. You might even enjoy it!"

Does Faith know there's Willy waving?!

"Come to London.

T

I fear that with my forum rep if anyone found out I was there a riot would ensue

I love a good riot. I like the oddballs too.

Also I hope it is sarcastic.

The sarcastic social. Snowflakes need not attend "

Aberdeen and more recently Dundee Social scene. Might be some sarcasm there in '24

If I went to a group social (would love to) and I was surrounded by men, I'd run away. How off putting.

Op. Any I’ve been to have been great. I just think you’ve got to get out there, and do it. Lots of good people wanting to just socialise.

Finding a venue in our chosen location (Shrewsbury) that doesn’t charge is virtually impossible which we have to pass on to the guests. Single men really up for it & paid as soon as I do sent info but you don’t want a “sausage fest”. Single ladies don’t appear to be interested. A balance is really difficult. And you don’t want venue to be too big or too small or drinks too expensive. It could be because of the time of year but I thought end of January after most have been paid would be a good time to get rid of some winter blues. Any tips gratefully received!!

Anyone who’s interested we host 3 a year. Next is March 16th.

Lichfield isn’t a big city like Manchester and Brum, but we promise it’s a fabulous night and has the friendliest of attendees x

We totally recommend LichVegas especially if you prefer a “slightly smaller” crowd or are nervous about a 1st social.

UTB is also great & we’re looking forward to our 1st Leeds social in Feb after hearing you rave about them

Fair point about the venue, pain if you have to give a deposit. A few use a website to pay a fee so at least you'd get your money if they don't turn up.

I've been to smaller socials in pubs where we just turned up but that's quite limited I suppose. There was one where they had balloons for a 'birthday party' so we knew who they were.

Not good if there's 2 parties in the same pub.

Hope it goes well. X

Treat socials like meeting mates up the pub and you will be fine, just dont stand in the corner avoiding everyone, you gotta approach people and never ever expect to hook up, pushy men looking for sex are swiftly ignored and in some cases ejected. It's just a social seems hard for some to recognise unfortunately

Socials.. Prefer my own company to making signals across a room playing a guessing game. I can please myself now that is worth more than a crowded room.

I just wear party dresses rather than fancy. The next one is pink, so will be something for anyone £15-20 from shein x
