"The bible....
And I'm serious as sin on that.
Something I've always wanted to do.
Old testament then new.
I wonder if there'll be a prequel "
The King James version? I find that quite difficult going |

I'm not sure tbh
I rescued it from a charity shop. I was told once that I'd read toilet tissue if it had writing on it.
It's interesting and I'm reading it with an open mind.
My typical reading matter is more like Lee Child etc... puse escapism. |

I’m just about to finish Past Mortems by Carla Valentine. A fascinating read about life as a mortician, how the body decomposes and our attitudes towards death |

Parts of the bible are beautiful. Some of the psalms for instance. It's worth reading just for that |

A couple of days before Christmas one of the National Trust properties we visited had a book lucky dip in their second hand bookshop. For £2 you picked a wrapped parcel with two books in it, each had a label giving a clue to the type of book. I chose history and have 'Heresy' by S.J.Parris and 'The Templar' by Paul Doherty to read. Whoever wrapped them included a small bar of chocolate.
I thought it was a great idea |

I only read about 5 books a year, max 10.
Usually a few on the go at the same time, so right now it's Tristram Shandy, by Laurence Sterne, Simulacra and Simulation, Jean Baudrillard, and a few pages into The German Ideology, Marx and Engels.
They're all comedies of a sort, at least one unintentionally . |

My reading tends to be quite heavy-going, but I love TV/Cinema like this.
Loving Alan Ritchson as Reacher, sucker for most things Star Wars, Harry Potter. |

I've just finished rereading To Calais, In Ordinary Time by James Meek. I've a huge pile of unread books to wade through, but sometimes I just need something familiar. |

I went for years without finding the time to do any re-reading, then over lockdown I re-read loads of books I'd been meaning to go back to for years. It was wonderful. |

Cobalt Red: How The Blood Of The Congo Powers Our Lives by Siddharth Kara.
It’s an eye opener. Tragic and heartbreaking stories of exploitation and greed, all for a rechargeable battery and the Green Revolution. |
