2024 is around the corner and I would like to get myself ready for a new challenge:

Be on the highest point of England (Ben Nevis is a bit to far unfortunately)

Anyone who has done it please tell us your experience.

Those who doesn't, would you fancy joining me?

Why don't you join one of the hiking groups on fb? There's evena 'hiking dating' group i think

Dubai & Nottingham

I’ve done it a few times as part of 3P climbs and also camped at the summit many times.

It’s a fairly quick steep direct climb from the car park which is already quite high. Up and down in 4 hours. Its quite hard underfoot without clear path like Ben Nevis so easier to get lost in bad visibility & rain. The final ascent is steep you need to be is reasonable shape no foot or leg injuries.

I would also suggest join the singles hiking groups too , they are very active there are 6 or so groups covering this area (lakes, NW etc) one group climbed it past night and I think a couple more groups are climbing it NYE.

My best NYE climb & camp is Cadair Idris I think it’s the best mountain in the UK

Belfast

It's not a difficult hike with good fitness levels but as already said there are sections with no definable paths and it's very easy to get lost in poor weather.

Only ever done it from Wasdale so not sure if there are more straightforward routes.
