As a child, I assumed that everyone did Christmas the same way but, over the years, I realised that's not the case.

Two traditions my family has are:

1. Shouting up the chimney. The whole family take it in turns on Christmas Eve to shout up the chimney to Santa, making their requests. Stockings would be hung up on the mantelpiece. Afterwards, the kids would sing Christmas Carol's etc.

2. Pineapple Game. This came from my wife's stepfather family. After the Christmas meal, everyone guesses how many leaves are on the pineapple. One person is selected to pull out the leaves. The person with the closest guess wins a prize, usually £1 or £2.

What traditions do other people have that aren't necessarily usual? xx
