Since we are new here and to the world of swinging , we were wondering why some hide their verifications?
Well you can still see the verification count, so it’s not like one can hide there body count, then what is it ? |

You can hide your body count. It's just a green tick then, no number.
I personally don't like them, I don't write them and I don't want to receive them. |

You can pick and choose which ones to show, so for example any that go into details of sex for example you can choose not to show and show only the social ones perhaps.
Also anyone who you have blocked or they have blocked you, those verifications don't show either. |

I have seen too much of how people can react to seeing who someone they fancy is fucking. I prefer to avoid causing people unnecessary drama so I don't tend to show sexual verifications. I only leave the summary up at the moment so I don't keep getting the oh so benevolent offers to leave me a verification if I do X, Y and Z  |

Partly because at least half my verifications have left the site so there is nothing to display and partly because there are some I no longer wish to be associated with.
I don't have any play veries anyway and I find the term body count crass. |

We keep 1 hidden, our first one. We were both very d*unk and can't really remember it. Most of ours are social with just a couple of play ones. We do like to read other people's before arranging anything |

I’ve often wondered this because my understanding has been a verification is a “ reflection” of your thoughts.

I think if you use the site for swinging and are not in the forums veri’s work really well, they do what they are meant to. But start getting into relationships, situationships and forums and it becomes messy.

I think verifications started off as a way to actually verify someone is a real person but over time they’ve turned into a weird eBay type feedback comment. We’ve got plenty from club meets (when we first got on here it seemed very important to have them to prove we’re real) but the last private meets we’ve had we haven’t bothered doing them. It seems pointless when we’ve already verified eachother in the past. Perhaps some people get off on letting everyone else know what busy sex lives they have? Nothing wrong with that but we like to be discreet too. |

I've had guys contact women I have met and ask for personal details for shit stirring purposes
I've also had women do exactly the same claiming they were just being cautious and wanted to confirm what type of person I was before they would agree to meet me.
All very strange as I had never spoken to any of them and only knew them from their forum comments and certainly wouldn't be meeting them.
I've also had a woman contact my verifications and ask them to persuade me to message her as she was 10 years below my age filter.

On our old profile we used to hide any veris with references to what we did during a meet and display the others. Usually when we meet now we make them aware we won’t display a veri if they write anything sexual on it. |

I don't display overly sexual verifications I'm not a fan of them, no one needs to know if I can suck like a hoover or not.
There's enough to say we are who we say we are & we meet.
Also people who left the site still snow on your verification summary but the actual verification disappears.

A friend who has now left told me the same. He got messaged about me saying if he had been with me, she wouldn't touch him. He never replied. Not sure who would go out of their way to do that but it was so weird.
Also had another experience of someone hoping they could arrange a threesome behind my back. I'd never met this person but they thought it was ok to message one of my veris to try and arrange. Was really awkward when I found out, my friend was in two minds whether to tell me or not. |

Also, if someone blocks you, you block them or they go off the site the verification number remains but the veris themselves disappear.
People can hide the number of verifications too. At the end of the day it is every person’s choice to manage their verifications the way they see fit. |

A lot of mine are just short polite veri's from people I met at a social event. They don't really say anything about me so I hide them. |

Beyond knowing if someone is real or not, verifications are pretty meaningless. You have no clue who someone is until you meet them in person. Could be a lovely person you have a great time with who has no verifications, or you could meet a total creep who has a wall of shinning verifications spouting how nice they are.
The sensible thing to do, get your verification tick and forget about them. Display a social meet or two if you really want to. |

We find the verifications essential to find out if we might be compatible and also route out timewasters.
You can’t just go on photos and the profile alone.
We display about 70% of our veri’s, we try to keep it to one only per person/couple and show only play meets.
If you have no veri’s or hide them we won’t meet! |

People who've left the site or people where there's a block in place - those verifications don't show even if the user didn't hide them.
Sometimes what people write about each other is crass and the recipient doesn't want to display it. (Or once someone wrote a verification including my name - I'm not displaying that!)
I only display a couple. For reasons that are mine and mine alone. If people want to read into that then that's on them. People read tea leaves about everything else, whether or not there's any merit to it. |

We don't hide all of ours. Over 90% are social veris because we go to events and meet lots of people.
Our hidden are either from people who have left the site or there are a couple of explicit veris which we didn't wish to share, we don't need details on what we got upto during play to be freely available.
Lots of people have different reasons. I wouldn't think anything on it, just worry about what you want to do with your own profile |

As others have said you can hide your veri count if you want.
I've hidden some of my veris for several reasons,none of which are anyone else's business. I also have had several people leave who have veried me so their veris are gone as well but the amount on my summary stays the same.
I don't know people care so much about them anyhow. They mean feck all bar that someone showed up at that time. I've met people with no veris who were great and I've met people with glowing veris who were complete and utter cockwombles. So I prefer to make up my own mind about people. |

Happy to have mine on display on here and also on our couples profile but we do have a female friend on here and although she shows her veri "tally" she hides who they are from as her previous meets have had hassle from other guys begging to see her private pics/vids and some even asking for her number! |

Each to their own. If you hide them or display them , your summary does tells you how many meets you had.
Sometimes verifications gives a lot of information about the person we like to meet . We can also decide whether to meet that person by reading verifications, especially bareback ones.
On other things,verification trails are very important to ascertain it they are genuine people or not. We have noticed loads of fake veris too on this site.
People who visit clubs, don't have to worry about verifications but people like us who have only private meets , verifications are very important to go through.
We won't care who fucked whom as long as they fit our criteria for meets . |

I have had my previous public verifications used against me. Its bordering on psycho stalker shit to be honest for me when the newest/present meet takes it upon themselves to go searching looking for and convincing themselves about shit that's fuck all to do with them. Contacting or keeping tabs on my previous verifications to check if I have met them lately etc. Telling me about my past verifications latest status and profile updates because they are obsessively watching my past meets and my profile for whatever bollox they have convicted themselves of.
Both mundane and a little bit concerning on my part whilst uncalled for and not needed on my previous meets part.

Number of veris doesn't equal number of meets, and meets doesn't equal shags / body count. Someone could potentially meet 30 people at a party and shag none of them but still get 30 verifications.
I hide mine because it's noones business who I'm meeting and what I'm doing with them.
The settings are there for people to adjust to the privacy level they're most comfortable with.

I asked the question in another forum and I've gone from showing mine to hiding, despite them pretty damn awesome and the people giving them being happy with it.
I didn't realise so much drama existed on Fab and I don't want to be part of that.
If people have an issue with me not showing friends or verifications, that is on them, not me. |

Sometimes people leave veris with wording that’s not the vibe the person receiving wants it to be. So they hide it. Other times people contact others to get them to persuade them to meet them.
It’s all personal choice at tge end of the day. |

I find it sad that in a community like this, some people can't deal with things like that like adults. If it does happen, just contact the person, let them know, politely, so that everyone can look after their sexual health and get it sorted. It doesn't need to descend into nastiness or blame. |

I entirely agree. I've had a couple of scares and that's what I did - hey, this happened, you might want to get it checked out, I'm getting it checked and I'll let you know as soon as I know anything.
