What are yours? Does everyone get new matching PJs, do you do late Mass, do you put out treats for Santa and the Reindeer. Or do you host a 20 person masquerade orgy?
Post what you do and if you want tell us how the tradition began too. |

When the boys were small we'd start off by taking the toys they had sorted out to the local Women's refuge or the children's ward of the local hospital
Then we'd go shopping for the last minute bits we needed and stuff to bake with
Then home and bake mince pies and cakes
Then Carols at the Christmas Eve Church service, then home, bath, pyjamas, Christmas films and snacks before bed |

Kids get a Yule box which includes sweet treats, PJs, a book, a lush bath bomb, a mocktail & fuzzy socks.
I clean the house, get the washing done, prep the food.
In the evening, Mr builds any presents that need building like bikes, doll houses etc. We organise the presents downstairs and mini sacks in their rooms for when they wake up.
We don't do Santa tbh. Never have done. But the kids still make a plate up but for us, so it's whatever they've chosen to surprise us with.

Everyone in my family, this year close to twenty of us, gets new pyjamas, kids get a book, three different flavoured popcorn in a massive tin, hot cocoa mix in some festive flavour, snacks for a film, candy canes, adult festive drinks, massive chocolates in shape of something festive (think they are reindeers this year), and reindeer food for the kids to sprinkle outside in the evening.
We all shower/bathe and wear our Christmas pyjamas whilst watching a festive film eating all the snacks and drinks, the kids are read the book before bed, and it’s the only night when all the kids fall asleep in minutes.
The kids will have baked cookies during the day after dinner. We also have our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and not Christmas Day.
Adults stay up drinking a home brewed Christmas time drink, finishing up final touches on presents and putting all under the tree, eating cookies, and someone will make Father Christmas “boot footprints” on the carpet near the front door or this year near a fireplace where the tree is at.
We celebrate again with more gifts on 6th January but instead of Father Christmas bringing them, it’s the Three Wise Kings who deliver them. Everyone puts a shoe box under their bed with a bowl of water (for the camels), and grass or hay too. That night adults rush off to empty the bowls of water and hay or grass from the boxes before morning and gifts are oddly left under the tree again. We have another massive Christmas dinner on this day. It’s also a massive Christmas breakfast with a special cake like thing with a hidden baby Jesus and whoever gets the piece with the baby Jesus is deemed victorious in some way. |

When we were younger and all lived at home we used to have a special tea on Christmas Eve. Fillet Steak with baked potatoes cooked on the fire. It’s one of those fond memories of living at home and we have all carried it on in our own homes. This year I wasn’t going to as I’m stuck here recovering so my mum dropped off the ingredients so I can have a proper Christmas Eve |

We have a big family day out somewhere then head back to my sisters house for a takeaway.
Once home it’s pjs (not too fussed if we don’t match) and a board game where usually world war three breaks out |
