Do you name your car?
I know I drive a girl car, it’s a she, it’s the only thing I can get to do what it told……
But I’ve never named her.
Does you car have a name? And are you crazy? |

"My current MX5 is Moxy... Previous one was Maxine and before that Max...
My ex bf bought a Mk2 VW Polo which was white and it had a sunroof... So obviously we had to call her Minty!"
They’re all brilliant |

"Your car does what you tell it to?
My wife would be so jealous of you. Hers does what it pleases."
You just need to put your foot down and grab the knob and shove it in…, |

"Naming cars is not for me, its just a car
That’s what I thought! But no, they are named like family members! "
True - around the time of Brexit I had a 5 Series called "Uncle Racist", and once had an A-Class called "Nanny Piss-Stench".

Do you at least make sure the engine is warmed up and running smoothly? That sounds awfully hurried in this weather. My battery would die if I tried it. |

Nope. Just scrape the ice off so you can see where you’re going. |

Scoot 4. Although it's not the 4th car I've driven, it's the 3rd one that is owned by me alone. Scoot 1 was my homemade soapbox cart when I was a kid. My wife and U never named cars we shared, except for the first car we bought in the UK - a Jaguar XJ6 (don't ask) which she affectionately called "The Beast".

Quite a few years ago two old sisters who lived nearby had a Nissan Micra and these old dears would razz around at 22mph, even in a 50. The car's reg was:
M11NGE
So of course I named it The Minge Mobile |

I used to have vintage VW Beetle. My fist car. She was a she with no name for 2 years then a uni friend christened her Gertrude / Gertie and it stuck. None of my other cars ever had a name. And I don't own a car since I moved to London.
Many of my houseplants have names, mainly the ones that were with me since uni days. I seem to have grown out of the habit of naming stuff mostly. |

Current car is unnamed. But my first fast Audi was called Suzi (Quattro) and my first Impreza WRX was called Ethel, in tribute to a Yorkshire Rally Driver called Steve Bannister who had a rapid MK2 called Ethel |

I have an exhaust sensor to change over the Christmas holidays so depending how that goes I might end up calling it a thing or two...
In general though, no, it's just a car, though I get why people might name more characterful ones like a classic Beetle.
"Nellie"
In my mind this created an image of you arriving James Bond style on Little Nellie (I forget which film that's from, I'm sure someone will tell me!) |

1 Beast.
2 Raven.
3 pile of shit.
4 Poppy.
In polite conversation they are all know as the drain on my resources.
Each one has a certain use that the others can't compete with.
And each one has a personality too. |
