Can you speak many languages?
I wish I could. Always fancied learning French. The sounds are so beautiful.
I'm fascinated by people who grow up in a bilingual household. How does that work? How does your brain compute it?

Sometimes the multilingual brain is fun. I’ve said words half in one and half in another language, sometimes I forget words in English but can remember them in other languages. Dreaming can be fun too, at times I dream in English, another language, or a few languages. |

Whenever a friend is bi lingual or multi lingual, I always ask them what language they dream in!
Not the same thing, but because I’m not originally from this country, in my dreams I’m simultaneously in many places I’ve lived before. |

I switch easily between English and Spanish now. I can't explain it, but my brain completely compartmentalises the two. Seeing/hearing Spanish around me makes my brain flip languages.
I learned German at school and can hold a basic conversation and get about the place. We've been teaching ourselves Dutch and can order in cafes/shops, check into hotels, have a basic chitchat, count, name animals and suchlike.
We use languages randomly at home. Please and thank you is often in Dutch. If a cat comes into our garden, we hear cries of "gato!" and Mr KC can only remember passcodes at work in German.
We're weird |

I can only speak English in a few forms. And I am learning Spanish at the moment. It’s fun. In fact on Saturday just gone I embarrassed myself talking Spanish to Mrs KC. |

I've been bilingual since a very young age. There are some things I will think about in Welsh and others in English. Although love is always thought and expressed in Welsh. And there are people in my life I will only speak Welsh to as English would feel odd. And when you have to it's the strangest feeling ever. |

Fully bilingual in Spanish and English. I dream in either/both.
Proficient in French but zero confidence to speak it.
I work with many polyglots and the way they switch from one language to the next flawlessly leaves me in jealous awe. It’s an ability I see as a true gift. |

My initial few years were in a Welsh speaking village and I went to a Welsh medium playschool. But I've forgotten most of it now
I do wonder if that early exposure to bilingualism helped with my brain absorbing other languages later. |

I can pick up other languages to speak. I'm not brill with the written word in any language. It's definitely helps with pronunciation of different languages. I think my mouth is happier making uncommon sounds, if that makes sense? |

Some linguists say that when you dream in a language other than your native one, you’re defined as fluent in the language of your dreams. |

Speak Japanese here but we jumble it up as her English not so good so japlish. When speaking Japanese I find myself taking on a different persona, a Japanese identity. |

I wish I could speak more than just English. I have dabbled in Italian and understand a fair bit of Maltese, but that's it really.
I did go to Italian lessons for a couple of years, but found after a major op, my brain didn't work the same and retaining information was really tricky. |

Can speak 4 different languages.
I used to be able to write in 3 as well when younger but alas it’s just English now.
Always amuses people when I can switch between languages. They say how can you be talking one language and then switch to English |

"Did New Testament Greek at uni. Wasn't something you conversed in so much (probably owing to the fact there aren't many 2000 year old Greeks knocking about), but I could read and write it. "

"Is Klingon a made up language like Welsh?"
All languages are made up! Do you think they grow like carrots/moron?
(There's a joke in there if you speak any Welsh!)
