"I once saw “Mad Graham” from Emmerdale outside Boots in Reigate High Street. Have you, like me, had a brush with the glamorous world of celebrity, and who and where was it?"
I used to run a restaurant in a city with a well known theatre.
Our after show parties were full of celebs.
Mostly nice people, with the occasional cunt. |

Once bumped into (not literally) to Gerome Flynn in Belfast I was walking past the arboretum and recognised this guy looking like a military contractor and threat beard… I instantly thought where do I know this guy from, where have I worked with him. He saw me looking at him once for the reason I recognised him. It was only when I got level with him that I knew him from Game of thrones.
We stopped, chatted had a pic and I explained that I was confused at first… genuinely a nice guy and laughed about my confusion.
He said my beard was better

I see Brian Blessed sometimes as he lives nearby. He’s often out walking in the countryside with his wife.
I saw Gary Bushel on Torquay harbour side one year

Some years ago, my wife, little daughter and I were in Abingdon Waitrose car park, when a large black Chrysler (well, some big fancy monstrosity, anyway) with blacked out windows swept in and parked. Cue comments about money and people thinking they're in Hollywood. The doors open and out climb Tim Burton and Helena Bonham-Carter (dressed like they've stepped out of a celebrity magazine). We tried to be nonchalant, but we obviously gawped like yokels. They took it in their stride and wandered into the Waitrose to buy caviar, or champagne, or chicken caesar wraps or something...

Oh, we met Neil Gaiman at a book signing at a tiny bookshop. He came out to sign my wife's books especially as we couldn't get her wheelchair into the shop easily. He was genuinely very warm and gracious, and chatted to her about the projects he was currently working on. It's a good memory. |

Have had many. I'm a music industry veteran, worked in high end recording studios, and I used to live in Hollywood. Where I was a music journalist.
But. I'm originally from NYC. NY-ers are a funny breed. We pride ourselves on not being impressed by names. Celebrities are people doing a job. We leave them to it.

Bumped into Gary Numan outside the womens toilets at a Marilyn Manson gig, he had just released his Savage album, which i love, and had that put him back in the charts, we chatted about it until his wife came out. Very nice guy.
Was in Camden, London doing the tourist thing before attending a Nine Inch Nails gig. While I was in a pub toilet my mates all got selfies with Trent Reznor, the lead of NIN. I could not believe my bad bad luck. NIN are my absolutely fav band of all time |

Before ATV television moved from Birmingham to Nottm and became Central ,they had to temporarily move into private studios in Kimberly. Most of the presenters were lovely when l worked there,Nick Owen made me a coffee, Ann Diamond was really ignorant, They were not happy at the time because they had to move or travel every day. The owner journalist of the studio was shot and severely injured in Beruit.l had to comlete some work for the fire certiface, Trevor East wouldn't leave his office ,so l threatened to shut the place down as l only had 10 min to do it. |

I was a litterpicker in St cleansing. One patch was in Chiswick and I saw a fair few celebrities. Tended to ignore them. Always had the view that they were on their own time and wouldn't appreciate bring bothered.
Never was much for celebrity anyway. |
