Good Luck Real Madrid
Jump to: Newest in thread
Being a good Liverpool fan, I find myself tonight in the extraodinary position of cheering on a Jose Mourinho team and Ronaldo for the second time in three weeks. I compensate this by the fact that ex Reds Xabi Alonso and Arbeloa both play for Madrid, and especially in Alonso's case he's an adopted Scouser.
So come on Real Madrid, show United what's what and give them a good old stuffing. Here's hoping that Ronaldo gets a hat trick in the first half, with Alonso finishing off the show with a couple in the second half.
Then in the next round I can get back to normality and support anyone who's playing Real Madrid...
For the record I'm expecting that lot from Salford to win, but as my heart rules my head, I'm going for 2 - 1 to Madrid. |

Being a staunch united fan since 1968 , this is a typical post from a Liverpool fan .
On every occasion when an English team plays a European team , I would always hope fir the best from the English club .
This includes Liverpool - just wouldn't dream of hoping a foreign club beats an English club !

Sadly this is a typical bitter post from a supporter of a smaller club that can only dream of getting into Europe's top competition any more.
What he also fails to realise is that if United and Arsenal dont progress a long way there is a good chance- given city's and chelsea's pitiful displays- that the 4 club allocation from the premiership may be reduced to 3, thus lessening his teams already miniscule chances of ever participating in the competion ever again. |

Realistically, if Real score first they will shut United down and try to hold the lead and nab another on thw break. If United score first Real have to go for it and they will need to beat United on the night. Only 1-1 will see extra time and that's not going to happen. United will score at home. More than once and Real are in deep shit. |

Well as a Stockport boy I am a little too close to the blue side of Manchester however I cannot wish a foreign team success over a local one. I would hope United win but are so shattered afterwards it leaves City a chance to catch up. |

Smaller club that has won the European cup more times than United and also more trophies than any other team in England. That must make United tiny in comparison then
I really don't care who wins tonight I will sleep just as well either way.... I support my team and couldn't care less what happens with other clubs... |

"There should be a bit of noise and celebration marking Ryan Giggs' landmark appearance. I'd like to see United do it and get it right up José Mourinho and Ronaldo. Good Luck! "
Big up to Ryan Giggs. It's a monumental achievement to play 1000 games in the modern era. It stands testament to his dedication to keeping fit and sharp at the ripe old age (for a footballer) of 39.

The club with the biggest fan base in the WORLD. You clearly know nothing about a man's game. Wouldn't netball be more up your alley? |

the OP was at least being honest..
and he did'nt use the hate word or some of the other drivel that so called fans on here often spout when talking about rival teams..
personally as a red from the Merseyside end of the 62 i would rather see the Mancs go through than Real..
its only a game...

"Roy keane just stated it was right decision to send nani off
he has made a few similar tackles to be fair..

I think he wanted to stamp on Southgate again in the studio. |

Oh come on, there will be loads of Man U fans who would say they don't support Liverpool if they were playing a foreign side so it isn't a shock OP.
As for the sending off...if it was against a Man U player would anyone be shouting his studs were way too high? |

Nani's 'red' effectively killed an enthralling match. Mourinho/Ronaldo will be ecstatic and fair play to them, as for the scoreline - well, I'm sure Madrid will feel they got a good result against a team tipped to go to the final.
For me, I want Real to win it now. They beat us with a dubious ref decision but in the laws of the game they won. Fergie wouldn't have complained if the status quo was the other way round, so fair do's, and with Real's form against Barca tis year you have to give Madrid the edge against the Catalans. |

i found roy keane to be just airing his bitterness at being shown the door by fergie......now had keane been on the pitch still playing for man u then he would have been livid at that decision |

Utd fans have very short memories. When City played Utd in the FA Cup quarter final last year Vincent Kompany got sent off for a great tackle. We went 3-0 down, but fought back with 10 men to 3-2. I didnt hear Fergie sticking up for Kompany, and the utd players were very keen to see Kompany sent off. At least Kompany got the ball. In tonights game Nani didnt even touch the ball, and to say he couldnt see the player is laughable! He knew the player was there alright. I think its quite funny listening to the utd fans have a good cry over this. and Fergie's refused to speak to the press again..... Have a taste of your own medicine and do us alla favour and stop bleeting. Utd didnt defend properly for Real's two goals..end of story. Accept and move on. |

Unless SAF is jacking it in at the end of this season, or The Special One is taking a sabbatical, ManU won't be his next job. More chance of him going to the other side of town. |

30 points still up for grabs. You should win the league now, but you never know, you may bottle it again like you did last year! Here's hoping... Nice to see that when faced with decent European Opposition your team crumble and have to blame the ref for your own poor defending. Oh well. No treble this year then. Shame. |
