I tried this today at work when I knew it was the scam inland revenue call. When the scammer said hello inland revenue how can I help after I pressed 1. I said I don’t really know. You called me and I’m worried that I owe money.
I played along giving my name as Mike Hunt. He didn’t realise I let him go through all his scripted chat.
Pulling more and more that I had no money and I might be able to pay the amount on my credit card. At this point he got excited he may even have creamed his pants.
He was really going for it coming out with all this about when you pay we will send you all the documents and how this would stop the police who were only 5 minutes away from coming and arresting me.
I put on my best scared voice, then gave him a completely made up card number expiry date and 3 digit code. Thank you My Hunt you’ve saved yourself a lot of trouble he’s happily saying as he tries to get £1000 off the card. Mr Mike sit your card is not going through he says.
That’s when I said look I might have a the name but it doesn’t mean I am one you thieving ling piece of shit.
At this point he rejected me and hung up.
I enjoyed my phone call not so sure about my co player. |
