Start A Revolution!

Imagine this:

We go to sleep tonight as usual. In the middle of the night A Chosen One is awoken by a couple of suited and masked strangers who tell you you've been selected to start a revolution. You are trusted to pick the goal. What do you chose to dramatically alter with unlimited support and resources? Pick any area - social, political, economic, anything what your brain gives birth to

Go, go, go. What world do we wake up in?

Tones.

There will be ramps EEEEEEEEEEVERYWHERE! There shall be no more steps. There shall be beautiful, smooth pavements with abundant dropped areas. All toilets will be wheelchair accessible. All car parking spaces will be set out as Blue Badge parking standard, for everyone. Every counter in every shop, café and restaurant will have a reduced height section.

The world shall become wheelchair accessible in AAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL the ways

Well tonight my friends we are dismantling consumerist capitalism by removing all tax loopholes for the filthy rich and backdating them by 50 years, and repatriating the billionaire's funds back to the people it was taken from by making all essential utilities and services public and free to use, and well funded enough to be useful

I’m joining Ms Wish because I’m quite lazy and we agree on the fundamentals.

Totally on board with the disability world and anti capitalism revolutions.

Undo the patriarchy for me!

To benefit all sexes!

No more toxic masculinity, sexism, the right healthcare, education, training, socialisation for all so that everyone is safe, happy and healthy.

Some may resist thinking it serves them well but will come to understand they have been deceived and a fairer world benefits us all.

Now I have to start a counter revolution. The Peoples Front of Fab where we shall fight the tyranny of the animal print wearing bourgeoisie!!

Yes, I'm totally in! Add to that an end to political cronyism, favours for party donations and the revolving door - where donations can be made only by individuals (not corporations) up to a limit set as the calculated modal disposable amount and every penny earned by anyone in public office is overseen without loopholes.

We're the people's front of judea we hate the judean people's front. Splitters.

I'd get rid of the Internet. No more shopping from home. No more toxic social media. People would have to get off their arses and go to libraries, actually physically meet people, actually go to real shops

I hope this world of yours is 100% accessible, otherwise disabled people will be unable to shop or go out! Online shopping is a god-send for many

I would get rid of money and change it back to swapping goods and services for same. If you haven't got anything to sell or produce in return for the things you want, then you offer your time and work off your bill.

I was about to post a long-winded hypothetical scenario based on this that basically ended up with the reinvention of money. But I don't want to piss on your dream so I will stay

Short version Person A makes amazing things everyone wants. Person A has so many things that they start taking people's time instead. They have a big pile of paper notes promising people's time and start to have more of those than they know what to do with. So they start swapping those notes for things instead. I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this...

I do and I like it. Though I wonder if some of those that offered their time working for person A would still be happy working for person B or C instead? Like say A was gonna get you to arrange the decorations in their store, but B has you digging foundations with a spade instead lol

Still, I like it

They don't really like it so instead some clever bugger suggests attaching a standard value to all these notes in a range of denominations...

I'd align government thinking towards income and benefits.

If minimum wage is £10.42 an hour, why the fuck is Universal Credit only £369.74 a month?

If Government thinks the minimum you can live on is £1,670 a month, why don't they pay that in benefits?

I'd start a revolution to cap income tax at 10% but increase VAT to 40%. That would be low enough to discourage tax 'dodging' but would tax consumption instead.

Big earners have more to spend because they're not paying it in the form of income tax, hence contribute more per head to the national coffers.
