Are you ready for Christmas?
Jump to: Newest in thread
The turkey was brined and cooked in November, before being carved and frozen in portions for Christmas dinner and beyond.
Put the copious stock into ice-cube bags for freezing and easy storage, so blocks of it can be used for the gravy. It just the stress out of the cooking side of things.
Christmas cake finished. Presents wrapped. Decorating was done at end of November.
Only really a case of hubby making up his family's traditional bacon-wrapped sausage-meat stuffing loaf, but that will be done on Saturday and kept in the fridge until cooking.
So, yes - pretty organised.
(In case you are wondering, my father was an army Drill-Sergeant...) |

Almost all the presents have arrived - wrap on Christmas Eve. I'll do my food shop on Thursday; make the ham on Saturday and the trifle on Sunday. Christmas dinner is roast duck, with veg and ham. Trifle for dessert. That's mostly cooked on Christmas day. And it's job done. It's all looking good. |

Bought presents? No.
Wrapped presents? See above.
Bought food? I have brandy cream and a few chocolate oranges.
Am I ready? Ask me after I've drank this Bailey's and we'll see if I care.

I’ll be honest doesn't feel very Christmasy this year, not careful it’s going to turn into just another bank holiday, too many employers worried about loosing profit now. |

Just the dreaded wrapping to do then collect the food that I’ve pre-ordered from my local farm shop.
I will start prepping veg etc on Christmas Eve so I’ve more time for the festivities on Christmas Day. |

"The only downside to being already is not eating the Christmas chocolates before the day.
The Baileys chocolate log is not going to make it to Christmas. "
Baileys chocolate logs are not just for Christmas you know |

Just as well because a slice of cake accidentally fell off onto my plate when I had a cuppa. Xx |

My wrapper-upper has let me down so I have loads of presents to wrap before Friday
I'm hoping my daughter comes tomorrow to help, and she goes over the floors while she's here.
I'm so tired I want to cry |

Just finished the last of it.
For us our Christmas is tomorrow which is the original norse pagen festival on winter solstice which was hijacked by the Christians!
Not many are aware that the twelve days of Christmas are from tomorrow until new year's day. Nothing to do with the 25th! |

"Yup!
I'll spend the day reading a book under a blanket fort.
I have books. I have blankets. All this running around like a lunatic and spending too much money can kiss my hairy arse "
Blanket forts are awesome. |

To the extent I celebrate Christmas, it's as a holdover from my Christian upbringing. |

I have everything....I think. I will have one last check to make sure the kids are even ie all have the same amount of decent presents and stocking fillers. Aside from that I need to do the food shop and I am NOT looking forward to that. |

Three presents left to wrap.
Too many to tie ribbons and affix bows to.
Christmas Eve dinner to be made. I don’t have a bloody idea how I’m going to manage sorting it all and not serving half cold food.
Cakes to be baked.
House needs tidying.
I’m at the point where I’m halfway regretting hosting people at mine but too late to pull out.
