What do you think there should be zero tolerance for? Something serious.... Or not so much.
Personally, I think drink driving. Shouldn't be a limit as to what you can drink, then it would take away the "temptation" to drive after just 1 or 2.

You're right.
It's driving the next day that makes zero tolerance difficult. Knowing you're at absolute zero before getting in the car the next day. Everyone gets rid of alcohol at different rates |

Does that include abuse from children? Because those little fuckers can be feral! "
They can, I experience abuse from a child on a daily basis but no it's not the same
Also abuse towards the elderly, that shit makes me angry! |

Probably just best not to, unless you really want extra points on your licence. |

It’s also food related. Wheat products can ferment in the gut and give you a reading on a alcohol test
Zero tolerance would see people being banned for having their weetabix |

I'll just get my nipper to breathe on it.
I think people should just exercise self restraints and common sense.
Problem solved.

"I think they should build sensors into modern cars to stop d*unk drivers driving "
I worked in the vending industry for many years and was asked once to help demonstrate a commercial breathalyser that was going to be used in factories and warehouses.
This was designed and manufactured by a company supplying official breathalysers to police forces across the country.
I registered as being slightly less than twice the legal limit which was obviously going to be an issue as I've never once tasted alcohol in my entire life.
Months later I told this story to a police detective while we were chatting about something completely unrelated.
He went out for a few minutes and returned with a breathalyser unit and asked me to breathe into it.
Once again it registered as well over the legal limit and he was amazed that things like that had never been picked up on before and said it could create all sorts of legal consequences.
For that reason alone I wouldn't trust any sensor to determine if someone was fit to get behind a wheel or not.
Based on my experience and despite still having never tasted alcohol I wouldn't be able to drive. |

Whilst i agree in principle and don't drink and drive of a night ut, how many of us have driven after a night out or weekend away when alcohol would still be in system. Not enough to impare your driving but you'd still be over any zero threshold..

The problem with "zero" limit, is that your body takes a long time to actually break down alcohol. You will have alcohol in your system for days after your last drink. Even with just a breathalyser, you can still detect alcohol as much as 24hrs after you've stopped drinking...
You also need to consider that some foods contain alcohol too, not in quantities that would impair but enough to show on a breath test.

I'll add medication to the argument.
The reason it's not zero but almost zero it for these very reasons. |

Have you ever been screened for diabetes? Uncontrolled diabetes can make you you breathe out ketones ( makes your breath smell like pear drops) which can be picked up as alcohol by the breath test machine. |

Whenever I leave London and visit other cities/towns I am often confused by strangers talking to me.
I must look rude or mad because it doesn’t register in my brain until after it’s too late to respond back without looking mad. |

I really thought/hoped covid would help with this and masks would be more the norm for anyone when they're sick - like in Japanese culture. But our stupid government messed up the information and handled everything so badly its almost gone the other way. I'd feel self conscious wearing a mask, because it's seen as government boot licking and not basic human decency |
