Recommendations are just that, recommendations. Whether you follow up on them is up to you.

I think it was George Bernard Shaw who said that a review of a book shouldn't really be more than it was good or it was rubbish as you can only know if that is true for you when you read it yourself.

If someone knows me well I may consider their recommendation. If I trust someone I might seek their recommendation.

For sex, no siree...for books-depends on the person doing the recommending. for recipes, depends if they are a good cook, for anything else i make my own mind up.
