Hi all, just wondering what's the mens fragrance that people enjoy most on someone else, or on themselves?
I'm fluctuating between Channel Bleu and Tom Ford oud wood... very different I know but highlights my changing taste |

I know the bleu is lovely, I like the sound of the Tom Ford, love anything oud.
I've got a Jo Malone sample of Myrrh and Tonka, I think that would smell amazing on the right guy |

Can’t speak for the ladies on here but the ones I wear and have been told “you smell lovely “ by female friends and colleagues are ( in order of most comments)
Sauvage - Dior
Eros - Versace
Bleau de Chanel -Chanel
Any of the forum women like these?
Every Christmas I think about treating myself to some Creed by Aventus but can never bring myself to spend that much on aftershave type stuff ( always buy my others at duty free )

"Are Noted Aromas any good? Are they good compared to the real versions? "
I recently purchased a few from noted aromas. I'd never tried Tom Ford tobacco vanille before. But it smells ?? lovely. Lasts at least 8 hours. The reviews were accurate as far as the time it lasts. At 19.99 for 50 ml it's a great price.
If you're unsure they do testers at a fiver , I think.

All fragrance male and female vary massively from person to person each person's body temperature, oils and hormones can alter the smell.
I remember many many years ago when I was working at Heathrow airport I passed this air stewardess and she smelt absolutely amazing to the point I had to go back and tell her and ask.
It's was Anaïs Anaïs ( it was the 80's) I purchased some for Mrs as a birthday gift, whilst it smelled great on her it wasn't the same, after much searching we have found Armani Code to be the best one for Jools.
So I'd always try it first to see if it suits you or the recipient.
Btw have you seen how expensive fragrances are now |

"Not very helpful, I know, but I don't like men to smell of anything other than soap.
Or fresh sweat after exerting themselves for my benefit "
Not at all helpful regarding the best fragrances. But very helpful in creating mental images |

Wear what suits you, what you prefer, what entices you and makes you feel good about yourself. Find your own signature scent that represents your personality. Don't follow trends or get trapped within conformity - try a few scents over time before deciding which one to go for.
Penhaligon's Halfeti: quite popular with some/most people on here. Unfortunately it's the foulest scent I've come across and induces near vomiting in my case.
I love and wear Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet...I'm sure it would make others similarly spew.
I also wear Hermès Eau d'Orange Verte. In fact I've been wearing it since 1988 - it's the best cologne ever made. It's also the worst cologne ever made. Go figure. |

Nero is spot on. How something smells on one person can be wildly different to how it smells on another. I have a soft spot for Penhaligon's and have introduced a few people to their delightful range buuuut... it's about what works for you.
I don't have a particular scent I like more than others. |

"Old Spice..the mark of a man...as i surf down a wave on my board "
Nah.
Blue stratos!!!!
Nero is right though.
Wrar what makes you feel good. Not what people say you should wear. You have to give a mens and ladies fragrance time too.
Fresh (just applied) it may smell divine but over time (the draw down) the key notes fall below other ingredients and can smell totally different and can vary wildly depending on a person's own natural notes.
My tastes have changed over time due to ageing.
Gone is my youthful aroma of vigour and in is the more subtle aromas with a longer draw down. |

I was recommended mood ldn white oud which I tried on spec and loved it. Ice since bought some of the amber oud too, really subtle but seems to go down well.
I like Paul Smith extreme too but doesn't last long |
