Rock and metal yes, but from punk just the "mainstream" ones.
I want to go to Wacken, but it takes a lot of organizing.
More people into heavier music here, than I expected.

We are both in to rock/metal, Mr likes the heavier stuff, have done a lot of festivals in the past (reading in the 90’s, obscene extreme, roadburn)but the idea fills us with abject horror mostly these days (unless we can stay in a hotel), get to gigs regular though. |

But depending on mood I could want Vengaboys or Combichrist or Limp Bizkit. It's a bit chaotic in my music library, but there's plenty of rock/metal vibes in there. |

Portsmouth or Southampton, ferry then five minutes and your there.
Mind you over the last 10 years it got a lot more expensive. 10 years ago the whole thing cost what I am paying for the ferry out there next year, what used to cost a couple of hundred all in is now nearer a grand for the weekend, and I’ve not booked anything really extra. You can pay a fortune d pending on you budget. |

Been in to the old punk scene since the 1970's n still out there seeing the punk bands now.
As for the festivals I use to do the Rebellion (punk festival) but haven't done for last few years, but still do Glastonbury every year, but only to work it for the money not the free entry like some, but still see the odd decent band there. |

Mr R here, love my rock & metal!
Recently saw The Almighty on their "Three n' easy" original line up shows at The Forum in Kentish Town.
Awesome gig and great to see loads of 40/50 year old, including the band, thrashing around like teenagers again!!
Mrs F has a much more eclectic taste, but leans towards 90s r&b......oh well, nevermind.. |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) | |
Do you remember Ricky from the Almighty’s side project, [Sic.]?
They were brilliant. Greasy three-piece rock and roll. Saw one of their first gigs in a little local pub back in ’95 or ’96. |

Camberley occasionally doncaster |
I saw 52 bands last year, over 30 the year before. And that's without a single festival. I'm lucky to be within striking distance of London. I don't have a specific genre - having seen bands as diverse as Muse to Gojira with some off the wall bands such as The Hu (Mongolian throat singing metal), Alien Weaponry (Maori Metal), Bloodywood (Hindi/English nu metal with bangra drums) and Elvana (Elvis fronted Nirvana). I also took my daughter to Bulgaria to see Iron Maiden (supported by Lords of the Lost)
Still have a few on my bucket list, and this year's list of gigs is growing. |

All of it, have been to many festivals over the years, including Monsters of Rock, Download, Phoenix, Rock am Ring, Groezrock and 2000 Trees.
Planning on Graspop this year; it's cheaper to go to Belgium than Download!
Usually go to Rebellion in Blackpool for punk, ska, reggae too

I’m going to watch an indi group called fizz in Bristol Tuesday night.
Anyone else going to see them? |

My tastes have mellowed but I used to love all those three and played bass in a thresh metal band.
Nowadays I mostly save it for leg days where justice for all, beneath the remains & never mind the bollocks get played |

Love me some nyhc and general punk stuff , seen the pistols a couple times and Ramones once , dri . agnostic front. The stupids and the mighty bad brains |

Big rock and metal fan here! Granted, I have a love for dumb metal too and just bands having fun! Off to the alestorm gig in notts next weekend.
Then we drop into things like while she sleeps and I prevail as well as classics like Sabbath so fairly varied but always heavy |

Haven't been to Download since 2018, and was planning to go this year.
Then I saw the god awful line up.
Hoping to see Bruce Dickinson in May if all goes well. |

Liking the sound of this, even though we have lost Jeff Hanneman, then again Angus Young is the only original member of ACDC left. |

I'm a Rock fan. Bands I've been lucky enough to see: Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, White Snake, Scorpions, Kiss, Yes, Queen, Dire Straits, ELO, Vixen. Missed out on Led Zeppelin so had to make do with Whole Lotta Led tribute band. |

"Bloodywood (Hindi/English nu metal with bangra drums)"
They're Punjabi, but whatever, I guess it sounds the same to everyone else.
Having said that, they're alright for a gimmick band.
Some more deserving and underrated Indian metal bands are Heathen Beast and "Sitar Metal" (yes that's the name). The former if you like blast beats, the latter if you like djent or djent adjacent music. |

The downside to being monolingual.. I can't tell most of the eastern European languages apart either. Thanks for the recommendations |

I’d respectfully disagree. Personally I think there’s a great mix of bands, and some absolutely banging acts further down the bill |
