Are beards a turn off or is it my hair?
Jump to: Newest in thread
So, I’ve got a rather well groomed beard.
I know everyone is different, but do you reckon beards are off putting? I’ve noticed quite a few people say on their profiles’ they do not wish to meet bearded men. - I’m more than happy to sacrifice my beard if needs be… it’ll grow back!
Whilst we’re at it, do you reckon my colourful hair is a turn off? Just curious, nobody has said anything as such but one has had a lot of time to ponder of late, and here we are haha.
Also I’m 110% straight but seem to get LOADS of guys liking my pics, despite making it as obvious as can be that I’m straight
Be honest, tell me your thoughts. I’m a Yorkshireman, I’ll survive honest
Thank you all knowledge ones |

Like you said, everyone is different.
I would absolutely not sacrifice anything I liked about myself just for sex with someone. If they don’t like beards, there’s plenty that do. |

Some people like beards. Some people don't. Some people like dyed hair. Some people like natural.
Don't try and fit yourself to what you think other people want. Be you. The people that are into that are the ones that are most likely to actually be compatible. |

Personally, I can't stand beards. They really irk me, for a number of reasons... Mostly the double standards of *some* men who think women should be hairless down there, claiming they don't want a mouth full of hair... Yet having more hair on their face.
The hair colour isn't really my thing... But I guess you might attract a certain type from it. Obviously there will be women who absolutely love it, and you should be able to express yourself in any way you see fit. |

The thing is O.P. I know I am a sex kitten and that every man - and woman come to that - on fab wants a piece of me ...... but my beard- ya know .....my beard.
They just don't like my beard. I'm still a sex goddess though ... |

beards for me are a total turnoff ..
but there are plenty who like them but you have to remember its not the beard that gets them interested its sexual attraction / and other stuff beard hair face body its the whole package and thats only the beginning cause after attraction its done to how you present yourself and this is where most men fail its one thing to be hot quite another thing to be a great package... |

I totally agree with you on the double standards around mouthfuls of hair upstairs and downstairs. I suppose it’s all down to personal preference really, I for one have no bearing on how a lady fashions her floof |

It’s your body so you should do what you like but personally beards are a turn off to me. It’s like a roulette where some are soft and others are prickly and like kissing a wire brush so I just avoid where possible.
Makes the whole dating scene difficult though as I’d say 70% of guys are sporting beards. |

I think you are in young man’s beard territory. I’m sure in 5 years time or so your beard will look hot as fuck. Right now at your age i would keep it slightly shorter.
Having said that you are very handsome and sexy and your beard suits you.
Don’t overthink it. |

Another fair point. Although thinking about it, I got fed up with it and chopped it off in Summer. It’s back again, bit of a love hate relationship with my beard haha. But aye, I hear you. There’s somebody out there for all |

Aye you’re probably quite right there. Likely so, just stick with it and carry on as I am. I’m not in any huge rush anyway, it was just starting to make me wonder.
Thank you very much, reassuring to hear!
To be fair, I was half expecting some ruthless comments telling me brutal things so this is quite nice to read.
Must learn to have more confidence in my appearance, I shall add it to my list of self developments. Thank you |

At first that sounds a little odd, but actually it’s just the same as the other way around. |

What more could you want?
Ps. If you like it… stick with it. Don’t change yourself for someone else. Ever "
Haha indeed I do
I’ve had a little brainwave, maybe a bit strange but…. What about half and half. Have clean shaven, half beard Perhaps not actually |

I'm one of those who is not a fan of beards op, but I absolutely wouldn't want someone to change/shave it for a meet.
You have a decent profile, but none of us will appeal to everyone, so keep being you. |

I suppose the key to that is just to be your complete authentic self. For example here, probably driving some of you up the wall replying but unknowingly not directing the reply to anyone… But I’m happy to laugh at my inability & also laugh at my little wins, that most folk wouldn’t bat an eyelid to. Just gotta be real I think, especially in this day and age where it’s almost as if it’s fashionable to be faux… |

I think your particular beard is fine, but I bet the hair colour is the primary reason for why you're getting attention from men, along with what some would consider to be borderline zesty facial expressions |

Aye, I think you’re right. Just stick as I am and the right person will like me for who I am now or then. I’ve had a really rubbish week, probably been thinking a little too deeply and let it sway my thoughts. Thanks for your opinion, makes plenty of sense to me. Also thanks for commenting on my profile, wasn’t sure if it was boring or not. But again, it’s about being authentic….. Wait that’s not to mean I’m authentically boring haha! |

How the froob do I take a selfie without looking zesty? If I smile I look creepy haha. I’ve never been a selfie extraordinaire. Back to the drawing board.
Actually, thinking about it I’ve had a few guys approach me in the past when I’ve been out - don’t go out so much any more so hasn’t happened for a while, but back then I was just rocking my plain Jane natural brown hair. I mean I’ll take it as a compliment but it’s not the attention I’m looking for you know? Not complaining as such. |

Eyup hold thi horses, I may be a young.. youngerrr lad but I’m not allllll about hanky panky. This also applies in general for meeting people. But I’ve been reassured that the right people will like the right people for the right reason

100% get this, I’ve often wondered about the prickly feeling. Some like it, some hate it.
It’s all down to personal preference which quashes my query in the first place actually |

I'd agree with the view not to change who you are. For every women who doesn't like the beard or hair, there'll be one who does.
Looking at it from a different perspective, in a club scenario the hair could help you stand out from the crowd, it could be a conversation starter... you never know. |

But yeah as all those fine specimen of women have said, don't change yourself for someone!
I can't really grow a beard for shit and just have stubble around the lips but I would love the choice! And fuck people who have problems with your hair! It's your identity and if it makes you strut around the house like Hugh Grant, keep it!
