For me Christmas songs are either loathe or detest or cringe.
Christmas for me is about new birth new chapters new beginings.
Songs.. Killed off by DJ as played over and over.
At home this year.. |

Most of them - but then usually at this time of year I'm forced to play them when DJing Christmas parties or dinners, some of which kick off in mid November.
Usually sick and tired of them after a couple of gigs, lol |

"Mistletoe and wine. I would be quite happy to never hear it again ever. Or Saviour's Day. Or Millennium Prayer. Just fuck off Cliff.
J
That is you off my Christmas card list. "
You like those songs? Gosh.

"Mariah Carey is at the bottom for me. Slade isn't far behind!
What's the Calvary one, Magneto?!
I quite like the slade one.
I've looked it up. It's 'Stop the Calvary' by Jona Lewie. "
Um... it's "Cavalry" - Calvary was where Christ was crucified (that's Easter). |

"I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day".
That's my idea of Hell.
And Charlie Brooks' as well, since he wrote a Christmas Black Mirror episode where the protagonist is trapped in a virtual prison where that's playing on a loop for what is essentially eternity. |

"Fairy tale of New York.
Both vocals just grate on me like nails on a chalkboard. "
Agree but haven't felt able to vocalise it this year, for obvious reasons! I turn the radio off if it comes on. Terrible song. |

Apologies it's not often I have to spell that word to be honest. Not really much call for it these days. |

Any cover of Do they know its Christmas.
The original should never have been tampered with. I get the whole new generation of pop stars thing, but nah, nothing touches the classic. Paul Young & Boy George on the vocals any day! |

I dislike that song for other reasons. It's so condescending! And many countries don't celebrate Christmas because they aren't Christian majority/state religion countries anyway. |

"The one with the smack head who died. So overrated, sounds rough as toast. McColl is good "
You clearly know the name of the song. No need to be so disrespectful. |

"Fairytale of new york.. overrated."
I'm in this camp. Largely because I expect the major of people that "like" it do so because they feel it's edgy but also follow the crowd because it's "cool" and not that the song is all that good.
I don't hate it but it's sort of... Cliche which is kind of funny considering its not a traditional Christmas song by nature. |

I can’t agree more with this, not only condescending, but inaccurate as well.
“where nothing ever grows”…….except for vasts amounts of forest and palm oil crops to mention a few.
“No rain or rivers flow”……. Errr hello, not heard of monsoon and rainy seasons, not to mention the river Nile!
I could go on.

"Chris Rea must love driving.
I only know two of his songs, 'Driving home for Christmas', and the other one is, 'The Road to Hell'. "
Depending on where Home is both songs could be about the same place. |

"Is there a good one?"
I actually like Boney M's "Mary's Boy Child". Not only is it tuneful, but is also about actual Christmas. And no, I'm not a staunch religious type. But of them all, I quite like that one. |

About 3 feet away from the fence |
Having gone through the thread and seen all the suggestions, it seems like many are mentioned due to them being trite & tedious rather than necessarily being genuinely awful.
I think I have found what is legitimately the worst Christmas song of all time..
I won't name it, it has to be experienced..
